Talk:Conference USA men's basketball tournament

The page here doesn't really describe the C-USA Men's Basketball Tournament very well at all, simply listing where the tournament was held and (presumably) the winner of each tournament. Furthermore, I doubt that the article has enough potential for growth to retain status as an individual article; it should be merged with the larger Conference-USA page, which already has a section describing championships in football. There are literally dozens of other conference tournament pages just like this....why single out this one? WillC 14:46, 30 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well, the page for the men's basketball tournament really does not have sufficient information. The page doesn't even mention anything about the schools listed. It just says, for example, "2002: Firstar Center, Cincinnati - Cincinnati." The reader is left to assume that the school listed won the tournament, which, while not really a stretch, really isn't well done. Now I also tagged the page for cleanup, which you cannot argue that it needs. It should probably include each of the schools participating in every year of the tournament, the results of the matches, tournament MVPs, and anything else that would give the page more breadth. Now the primary reason that I tagged the page for merger, besides that the article does not have enough descriptive information, is that there should be some mention of the tournament results on the main CUSA page. Essentially, the information on the tournament's page contains the basic information that should be on the conference page--which is why I feel that the page should be merged. Even if the page is cleaned up there should be more than a wikilink on the conference page. But of course feel free to disagree with how I see it. Blinutne 21:27, 30 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
And disagree I shall. For starters, did you look at any of the other pages in the NCAA basketball tournament category? Are you an American? They are basketball games not matches. Also, it is redundant to list every team that participated in it every year; that would be too much info, especially when the same core teams have been in the conference since the beginning. I will add more detail to clarify but again I steer you to the many other tournament pages. WillC 21:49, 30 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I can't see where listing the tournament paritcipants is a bad idea, but I do concede that it isn't exactly pertinent information. But at your behest I did check out some of the other tournament pages and, while the Pac-10 is just as bad as this page, the Big East is very nicely done, as is the Big Ten, and it wouldn't be a bad idea to model the page after either of those. I'm working toward that. Give it time and do not merge them. WillC 10:15, 1 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Could someone find the MVP for the championship game? -Hangfromthefloor 18:47, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
