Please add additional text to end of section "Rookie season (2015–16)". Currently there is no information given about this incident.

The season ended on a sour note for Russell. During March 2016, a video was posted on Fameolous which showed, fellow Laker, Nick Young admitting infidelity with a 19-year-old girl he met at a club while Russell surreptitiously recorded. It is thought that the video was made as part of a prank war that the Laker team had been conducting throughout the season[1]. Immediately, Russell was faced with a popular backlash[2] [3]. Many on social media accused him of being a "rat" [4] and ESPN reported that teammates were isolating him. A source said that no one would sit at his table during a breakfast meeting and that Lou Williams got up and walked away when Russell sat next to him in the locker room[5].

The scandal died down following the end of the regular season as the Lakers failed to make the playoffs. Despite the reported rifts in the team, both Russell and Young continued to play on the Lakers through the 2016-2017 season. Revanche1 (talk) 10:41, 24 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. @Revanche1: I think something should and can be added. However, we need to be wary of WP:BLP. Can you indentify sources months or years after the incident? This would alleviate concerns with inaccuracies due to breaking news sources. Later sources would probably be less diary/play-by-play sounding, and have a more big picture view of the incident. There's also the sources themselves—I'd prefer more mainstream ones like ESPN or newspapers. Regards.—Bagumba (talk) 10:55, 4 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

SB Nation reported that the video was made as part of a prank war that the Laker team had been conducting throughout the season.[6] According to ESPN, the release of the video caused a rift between Russell and the rest of the team. This is a repeat of an earlier request by someone else. Asking for sources is a bit ridiculous even though this is a BLP; this issue was reported in pretty much every paper with a sports section. Russell himself admitted the mistake and apologized in public. 2600:1700:A419:8030:68FB:370F:EBAD:D320 (talk) 18:24, 2 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
