Controversies[edit]

It appears Mr. Spence may become a controversial candidate for Mo. Governor, with information already made public about a falsified education claim. He also has a minor DWI/DUI conviction I'm trying to verify with multiple sources before adding. I just want to caution everyone to please try to avoid POV violations, source everything controversial, etc. As someone who deals with a lot of Missouri-related political articles I figure at some point one side or the other will claim the article isn't being fair. I'm neutral...I hate ALL politicians (j/k). My only goal is a good, fair, article. Have a great Wiki kind of day! Sector001 (talk) 17:19, 14 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, let's avoid WP:POV violations, not to mention providing a good source (not clear that multiple ones are needed if the first is a good one - NYT, Washington Post, LA Times, etc.) for all information. Unfortunately, sometimes POV issues aren't clearcut. For example, WP:UNDUE says that minor issues shouldn't be given major prominence. That doesn't mean ignoring them, but it does mean that readers interested in a lot of details about a relatively minor issue should go to the source cited (in support of what is the Wikipedia article) to get such details. -- John Broughton (♫♫) 15:23, 15 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
