Untitled[edit]

How many times does a student have to change the Mascot to Meteor Man before someone is convinced I am a senior at De La Salle Highschool, at prep rally's and games the mascot is, and will be, Meteor man, a very big blue suit of a hulk-like charachter. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.1.61.229 (talk) 09:51, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Notes on "C" rating, and tips for improvement[edit]

I am transferring these notes from my talk page, as they are suggestions specific to this article. These are suggestions made after seeing the article rated "C", which is step up from the start rating it had.

I have ammended the rating to C-Class, but I think the article needs work in the following areas;

  • The lead doesnt summarise the article adequately. If you had 30 seconds to speak about the school, what would you say, put that in the lead.
  • doneGet the schools logo, with a Fair Use Rationale. (I hope I did this correctly!
  • donePossibly move the Tolton Center section into academics
  • doneConvert some of the alumni section to prose, is there a former students union? or something like that, that would need to be included.
  • donethe athletics section should be in the extra curricular section
  • the extra curricular section should have information on some of the programs at the school, eg. debating, music, bands, community service, boarding (if it exists) etc.
  • a list of notable teachers, and a list of all previous headmasters would be good.
  • some information on the campus of the school
  • information on fees charged (if applicable) and any scholarships on offer.
  • Most things on the article need to be expanded, and backed up by independant third-party sources.

Many thanks for your message. Hope my advice helps, if you need any further assistance, regarding this article, another article or wikiproject schools, feel free to drop me a line on my talk page. Thanks. Five Years 16:32, 14 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A request has been made for this article to be re-assessed. I am keeping it at C-class, and granting it an importance of Mid. Needs further work for B-class, in particular citations need improving as there are a few gaps and cite templates such as {{cite web}} should be used as much as possible. The copyright of the school song also needs to be checked, usually they are copyrighted. Is it released under a GFDL compatible licence so it can be used on Wikipedia? Even if it is it should probably be put on WikiSource and linked to from there. I am giving it Mid importance for the alumni, could be High importance but I am not sure the article quite justifies it yet. Camaron | Chris (talk) 17:00, 13 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
