Great work. Worth of a barnstar! --RockyMM 10:10, 11 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks so much...I have now learned what a Barnstar is even...post one if you wish...LOL...and thanks for the heads up...and the compliment. Tvccs 14:05, 11 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
For those who may be interested, the content in this article has been personally reviewed with and verified for its accuracy with Derek Sherinian. Tvccs 00:19, 4 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Award[edit]

The Original Barnstar
I award you this barnstar for recent tireless work, especially on Derek Sherinian, Planet X, and numerous other music related articles!!! RockyMM 11:31, 12 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This is a barnstar!! :) Something else, when I first started editing Derek's page, I had big plans for it (I wanted to include as much info from his site, considering education, early years and more as possible), but no time or clear vision how to do it. Derek's article as it is now by far surpasses what all my plans were for that article. Keep up the good work! --RockyMM 11:31, 12 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks very much - I took the liberty of copying your barnstar (now that I know what it is) from my User discussion. Keep checking back...there are now a ton of media links buried in here...with some interesting content. It's my hope this page will serve as a guide to what a Wikipedia page can be...although there are certainly better ones out there as well. Hope you enjoy. Tvccs 13:42, 12 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Biography templates[edit]

How do you feel about adding Template:Infobox_musical_artist, Template:Persondata and Template:WikiProject Biography? Or maybe even this Wikipedia:WikiProject_Musicians#Adding_articles? If you're OK with it, I'll add boxes with appropriate info. --RockyMM 14:22, 13 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

After making about 400 edits to this thing, and really fiddling the layout to death, at this point I'd rather not, if possible, as the page in it's present form has a lot of outside linked detail and layout info I haven't seen in a lot of Wiki pages. As I indicated, I've actually been in touch interviewing Derek about this stuff, which he thinks is very important, and I think the layout here has some improvements over the standard templates, which I did visit, unless I'm missing something in what you're saying??? That being said, I think it would be a good idea if you wanted to sandbox something to show a demo of what you have in mind? I'd be very interested in seeing it. I'm also going to expand the album listings and info and get the Planet X solo album detail up, and fix a bunch of minor fact errors I've found. Thanks again for your input! Tvccs 17:47, 13 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Take a look here and here. On the article page maybe infobox looks ugly, but Persondata template is not visible and can be usefull in future. On the talk page, maybe template adds too much clutter, and also I see that their colaborative group is not very big and they don't have a large number of articles listed, but [[Template:WikiProject Biography]] template also can be usefull to have, especialy since it's on the talk page and won't fiddle with layout you have invested so much time. --RockyMM 12:48, 14 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks very much for taking the time to do these Temps...from what I can see...well...the box isn't as ugly as I expected...LOL...and I like the fact it's got a place to hotlink to the main Web site as a field. The Bio template may be useful at some point going forward as well, and I thank you for sharing it. I need to go see if I can better understand the Musician template as well...and how about those links??? It's amazing what a little research and attention to detail (well a lot really) can pull out of one of these simple pages...Flash Smash...lol Tvccs 13:52, 14 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Rocky...go ahead and use what you laid out on Talk:Derek Sherinian/Temp and change it, but use the present copy on the Wiki page as there have been additional changes...it looks good...just be sure the border color selected matches the Wiki formatting suggested. But I thank you very much, and I'll be getting back to you on the other stuff soon. Tvccs 03:10, 15 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Went ahead and made the changes...thanks again for your help! Tvccs 22:40, 15 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I saw that. I'm not that frequent on Wikipedia these days. I'll add biography templates to Talk (this) page. --RockyMM 11:20, 16 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the headsup...I understand it better now Tvccs 11:10, 17 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted links[edit]

Why is an editor removing links from this page and not discussing here first? This is a failure that has been happening more and more often over the past month or so at Wikipedia, and should not be. Badagnani 02:43, 25 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

GA push[edit]

Derek Sherinian is great, and I'd love to help with a GA push here. — Deckiller 06:55, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Featured Article push[edit]

Scratch that—how about a featured article push? It's possible. Two major issues to tackle are images and article expansion; image options can be discussed at WT:NFC, and there are more than enough interviews and other sources. — Deckiller 04:29, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Two other editors have expressed interest; we will start tomorrow. — Deckiller 08:09, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'm in. --ΛэтєяиuS 09:45, 22 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Awesome. I think the first thing we have to do is read those interviews and add the info to the biography section. We can probably add other album-specific info to each of the album articles.
The hard part is going to be images, as Mr. Sherinian cannot release them into the CC/public domain. We'll have to find quality images from fans/webmasters and get permission. — Deckiller 14:54, 22 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I have some free time tonight; I'd like to get a discography chart up and maybe convert a couple of those interviews in "further reading" to inline info. — Deckiller 23:11, 25 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well done with discography section, Deckiller. And about interviews, I think we should split them on 4 pieces (one for each of us). Maybe you guys have already started reading them, so tell me wich interviews are still available for me. --ΛэтєяиuS 11:39, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks; I just have to add a few cites and a few more albums. I've skimmed a few interviews in the Further Reading section, but I haven't read most. Perhaps you can take everything below USA today? Any interviews we don't use for the article can obviously remain in the section; Tvccs did some awesome work compiling all those sources. — Deckiller 14:39, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Roger. I'm going to be busy for three or four days, and after that my job starts. --ΛэтєяиuS 21:09, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Does anyone know any good sites to find album sales? My searches have come up empty for the most part and I don't want to give up on it yet. DarthGriz98 04:21, 28 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Blackutopia.jpg[edit]

Image:Blackutopia.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
