COI tag (August 2021)[edit]

The primary editor for this article, Sabine Hagmann disclosed here that they know Özbek personally, which is in fact considered a conflict of interest on Wikipedia. Please see WP:COI for more information. signed, Rosguill talk 21:16, 23 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

"Subject-matter experts (SMEs) are welcome on Wikipedia within their areas of expertise, subject to the guidance below on financial conflict of interest and on citing your work. SMEs are expected to make sure that their external roles and relationships in their field of expertise do not interfere with their primary role on Wikipedia." – I don't benefit in any way from writing about other artists. Therefore, I don't see a conflict of interest. If you think there is, would you mind pointing it out to me in the text, please? Thank you! Sabine Hagmann (talk) 20:10, 27 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
You stated on your talk page, in the diff I provided above, that you know Didem Özbek personally. That comprises a COI. This has nothing to do with whether or not you have relevant expertise beyond that. signed, Rosguill talk 23:46, 27 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I last met Didem Özbek at the Istanbul Biennial in 2017, among many other artists, and as I stated, I have no personal or professional gain apart from wanting to promote a diversity of Women artists on Wikipedia. I hope, this is no reason to compromise this article Sabine Hagmann (talk) 19:20, 30 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, thanks for clarifying your connection. That's distant enough that I don't have any further concern. signed, Rosguill talk 19:35, 30 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
