Bodenar or Bodinar?[edit]

The page should use a single spelling of William Bodinar's name. Currently it uses both "Bodinar" as well as "Bodenar". A Google search for 'bodinar cornish' gives 296 hits while 'bodenar cornish' gives only 9, so it seems that Bodinar is right. Does anyone know for sure? Molinari 01:40, 13 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Poem[edit]

It says at the end of the article a poem has been dedicated to her, What is it? QueenCake (talk) 14:13, 11 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Monoglot?[edit]

I suppose if the definition is "only spoke" versus "could only speak" this is true, but Chestan Marchant is also listed in wikipedia as the last monoglot speaker (in the "See also" section). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.109.42.22 (talk) 07:14, 12 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No, Dolly could speak English as well, tho' she claimed she didn't know English til she was 20 years old (it is not clear if that claim is true).--Solomonfromfinland (talk) 06:27, 28 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Picture[edit]

Could we use a version of this portrait of Dolly by John Opie? It's regarded as a more accurate image of her. http://www.bbc.co.uk/ahistoryoftheworld/objects/qWv9dnnORZaEiEkG0ID8Lw Bodrugan (talk) 23:05, 6 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Name[edit]

How is her surname pronounced? What is its etymology?--Solomonfromfinland (talk) 06:28, 28 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Pentreath has accent on the last syllable and "treath" would rhyme with "breath". It means "head of the strand".

Scaddan[edit]

"and in 1781 an engraving of her after Robert Scaddan was published.[1]" However in WM Commons this portrait has been linked to Richard Scaddan. So the two authorities do not agree.--Johnsoniensis (talk) 08:01, 6 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
