Release date for first album?[edit]

Does anyone know the release date for the Emigrate album? --Jaymo 15:38, 9 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Even Richard Kruspe doesn't seem to know..! --Dark Jin 19:14, 9 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
As now noted in the article, it will be released August 31, 2007. ~MDD4696 21:45, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Babe is up for download[edit]

Anyone else as disappointed as I am? I was hoping for My World to be released :( --Jaymo 13:06, 29 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"Babe" was probably voted as the best because it was the most different from "Wake up". But yeah, I liked the other two better. ~MDD4696 16:09, 29 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sources[edit]

Please provide valid sources for anything you post to this article! Wikipedia is not the place to speculate. I removed the Singles section because I cannot find any evidence that "Wake up" will indeed be a single, apart from various claims on fansites. Fan sites are generally not worthwhile to link to or cite from Wikipedia; they have no authority. Please don't add them to the External links section unless you can provide some justification. Thanks. ~MDD4696 16:09, 29 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

MySpace reference[edit]

I'd like to note that the MySpace reference is indeed a valid reference.I used it for the names of the band members. It is the official MySpace account for the band because they were the ones who originally posted the song samples and because they have (or had) forms on the page for subscribing to the newsletter (the form submits to the band's management website). ~MDD4696 00:54, 1 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Notability[edit]

On 5 December 2006, User:Bgold4 tagged this article for speedy deletion. I removed the tag because if it is to be deleted, I'd like to see it go through the formal nomination process. This band is notable/will be notable because it was started by a member of Rammstein, a very well-known and popular band.

From Wikipedia:Notability (music):

6. Contains at least one member who was once a part of or later joined a band that is otherwise notable

Final versions[edit]

Does anyone know if the downloadable versions of "Babe" and "Wake Up" are the final versions that will be available on the album? --Oagersnap 23:22, 23 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Adding external links[edit]

I got a notice saying that an external link I posted had been removed and to discuss it on the talk page. I feel the link is 100% relevant to this page so may I please re-insert it?

Please feel free to review the page I would like to list :)

I am also posting this on the Richard Kruspe wiki page if that's ok as it applies there too.

It's a single page that basically says "coming soon" and it's a fansite to boot - what is the advantage of adding that to a wikipedia article? --Fredrick day 22:27, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It will soon be a collection of factual information regarding the band this wiki page is about much like many links on wikipedia. For example the fan page listed on Richard kruspe's wiki page. It will include a band history and information regarding all aspects of the music such as releases, member biographies, etc. I just though it was a justifiable link because it would contain further factual information.

Now that the site is live would you consider it as an external link? Emigrateunofficial 15:19, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia generally does not link to fansites. There is no added value to the reader by providing a link to your site, since there is nothing exceptionally unique or informational in your site. Please do not add links to your own website. If your site is worthwhile enough to be linked to, someone else will add it. ~MDD4696 01:02, 6 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have checked back to this page on a regular basis in the hopes that people would add a link to Emigrate Unofficial and it seems that someone did a few days back, but that was also removed. Seeing as I let the issue go and things have happened according to your advise I can't help but feel that this has become a personal matter. I have been polite and co-operative so I don't see why this would be the case but I do feel discriminated against now. Before 'fansite links' are brought up again I'd like to mention that MOST of the musicians and bands on wikipedia have links for fansites, many of which are badly designed 'shrines' with little info, yet they are allowed. Emigrateunofficial 22:44, 12 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I would appreciate a response, especially seeing as a link that according to your definitions has 'nothing exceptionally unique or informational' about it (Emigrate Collection). I am also quite happy to post a list of many other pages with links that come under this category as mentioned before. I truly feel that this is personal now and I hope to get a response before I am forced to make an official complaint. Emigrateunofficial 12:25, 25 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fansites are inappropriate. See WP:EL. Your claims that you are being discriminated against are hard to fathom. Official fansites are one thing but unofficial fansites should be, and generally are, removed from articles. --Yamla 14:01, 25 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

As I have mentioned before, the fansites that do seem to qualify are simply badly designed 'shrines'. Also: "If your site is worthwhile enough to be linked to, someone else will add it." This has been done several times and some people even told me they had added the link because they thought it was worthwhile yet it is still removed. Genre[edit]

The genre has been edited way too often to different things on the info box, so I hunted down some sources on the genres and put them up. Should this be good enough to keep it like that? Ximmerman (talk) 02:38, 6 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Not yet, I'm afraid. Please, don't pick up any hostile tone in what I'm saying: really not meant like that :) It's just that those three sources aren't considered reliable ones, so until those are found it'll be better to keep it more general. Prophaniti (talk) 11:22, 6 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"Emigrate" is a bit too vague[edit]

I feel that there should be some distinction in the title of the article. For instance, someone may write some text that goes something like this:

"[...] so he chose to emigrate his country and move to the United States."

Which would link to this page. This is confusing.

I propose to move this page to "Emigrate (band)" and set up a redirection here to emigration, as it is the more common usage of the word. » ɧʒЖχ (ταικκоŋτяљ) 20:51, 30 December 2009 (UTC)

Agreed. I'll move the page now. Gobonobo T C 23:42, 24 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
