Criticisms

You don't need to say "men's health claims xyz has ### calories", five guys reports it's calories so the calorie info isn't an opinion — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.82.216.52 (talk) 07:15, 16 August 2012 (UTC)

And of course the "large" fry has a lot of calories. It's a truly massive serving of fries. The fries themselves are no worse health wise than any other french fries. Men's Health isn't exactly breaking any kind of ground by accusing a burger joint of being unhealthy — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.33.12.151 (talk) 19:36, 11 December 2013 (UTC)

Since when are calories unhealthy? In my experience, Five Guys usually recommends a small fry for one or a medium to share. Cholesterol, sugars, etc may be a better focus to avoid passing on misinformation from Men's Health garbage. Jchook (talk) 01:32, 17 June 2014 (UTC)

Old discussions

Some of the restaurants offer in-shell peanuts for customers to eat while awaiting their meal. These often have shells on the floor. Not sure if this should be added to the post... but a tidbit. Dwacon 20:58, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

Boardwalk-style fries?

What are "boardwalk-style" fries? I can't find anything about the term on the page or on the French fries article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.226.79.33 (talk) 23:39, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

Photo

I added a photo of the 5 guys in Pittsburgh. It would be good to have a photo of some of the DC ones, but I don't see any problem with having one of the expansion stores. --Hepcat748 (talk) 22:01, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

Remove the picture of the burger. It does no justice to a five guys burger. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kangolcone (talkcontribs) 22:03, 10 January 2009 (UTC)

kosher

can a hot dog with bacon be kosher style? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.141.213.33 (talk) 00:40, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

Good question, I believe a rabbi or someone in the Jewish community that is equivalent must bless it for it to be kosher; I think the article is referring to the grade and quality of the meat used for bacon (which I don't think can be kosher) and hotdogs. ~~SkipmCdiddler —Preceding unsigned comment added by SkipmCdiddler (talkcontribs) 05:59, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

The hot dogs can be kosher (non-pork derived and killed in the appropriate way) but the facilities are very likely not kosher (ie they would need separate cooking areas for kosher and non-kosher items). That is why the article specifies "kosher-style", rather than just "kosher". People who care about keeping kosher know the difference.

The article says: "The menu also includes kosher-style hot dogs, available with cheese and bacon...

Is this meant to be a joke? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.42.95.107 (talk) 22:43, 13 September 2010 (UTC)

no, its not a joke. there are numerous articles supporting the idea that many people associate kosher hot dogs with higher quality. many nonjews gravitate towards kosher food items. I can see the rationale for using that as a sales point to differentiate their hot dogs (a distinctly low end food item) from other joints. the facility is obviously not kosher, as they serve bacon. they arent claiming to be a kosher restaurant. I wonder if they source their hotdogs from hebrew national?(mercurywoodrose)75.61.136.242 (talk) 07:45, 15 December 2010 (UTC)

All these states really necessary?

They are going up all over the country, we get it. I really dont think we need to keep adding states they're in. I wanted to just erase all of them right now, but I wanted to see if anyone agreed or disagreed. Jwalte04 (talk) 17:19, 6 September 2008 (UTC)

disagree —Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.127.230.139 (talk) 13:06, 16 October 2008 (UTC)

Yes, especially if you don't know who they are. Although, it might be simpler to identify a region and notable exceptions. I just saw in my paper, that they're coming to Arizona [1]. I was only aware of them from Obama's visit, previously. In other words, stop thinking so provincially - though it is good to be on the watch for undue self-promotion. 209.145.67.24 (talk) 01:24, 23 April 2010 (UTC)

Obama

Is the obama reference needed if we put down that she likes eating there then why dont we put down every known person who has ever said they like eating their. that is ridiculous so i say we take it off--P-Real DA deal (talk) 19:01, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

It is certainly a notable event to have a sitting head of state personally visiting a restaurant, Obama's NCAA roster was featured on that page even though there were millions of rosters made by all kinds of people. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.120.182.253 (talk) 16:45, 7 June 2009 (UTC)

Meh, Ray's Hell Burger has had better. :) Two of 'em from different countries. 198.151.130.69 (talk) 02:12, 13 December 2010 (UTC)

It is not notable. Unless you are going to put Obama's order at McDonalds, Taco Bell, Arbees and Applebees up, leave it out. 24.49.169.129 (talk) 11:08, 20 May 2010 (UTC)

Burgers and Fries

Where I am from, it's known as "Five Guys" with "Burgers and Fries" as kind of a subtitle... Should this be included/redirected?75.106.166.72 (talk) 19:48, 15 August 2010 (UTC)

History

The article says that the first store was closed in favor of the second location at King and Beauregard. I believe the first location was still operational long after the second and several subsequent locations opened. If my understanding is correct, it would be more accurate to say that the original location is now closed, maybe with a date of closing, and leave it at that. Anyone know for sure when the first location closed, and what new locations had opened by then, and for how long? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.100.190.234 (talk) 14:59, 20 May 2013 (UTC)
