Reason(s) for leaving the Scorpions[edit]

In a Penthouse article of April 1994, Wayne Robins wrote:

The Scorpions faced their own internal heat before making the album - bass player Francis Buchholz left after 18 years. They had come back from their triumphant Crazy World tour to find themselves with a serious tax problem in Germany "It was a real nasty divorce," Meine says. "We felt things were being handled wrong, so we fired our business manager and tax adviser. Francis had been our bridge to the business world and, to our surprise, he decided to stick with them." (source)

This casts some doubt on the relevance of the statement "Francis Buchholz left the Scorpions for a family life with three children" made in the current article. I will therefore shorten it to "left the Scorpions". Maybe someone with a deeper knowledge of the band's internal going-ons can contribute some further information? 131.234.209.145 22:11, 24 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Agree[edit]

Buchholz is surprisingly frank and specific in this interview. His explanation does not contradict Meine's above, so I changed his reason for leaving the band to "a disagreement over band management" and cited that interview. He does also mention in the same interview that he had just started a family around the same time and life on the road was "not really compatible with my understanding of a healthy family life." It seems clear this was secondary in his decision to leave the band. —xanderer (talk) 20:08, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
