Well assuming painted from life which seams likely it must be at least 135 years old which means we would have to be quite unluckly for the painting not to be in the public domain.©Geni 23:32, 5 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Its copyright status doesn't matter. It's in a UK national museum, which almost certainly means they'll claim to own the copyright, even when they don't. Even though the UK doesn't recognise simple mechanical reproduction of a 2D artwork as creating a new copyright, they will still claim this. Andy Dingley (talk) 00:30, 6 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
