Amiga category[edit]

Why is this in the Amiga category? The "genlock"s of the Amiga are just misnamed overlay hardware. --tonsofpcs (Talk) 07:35, 25 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Weren't genlocks made available to the Amiga market long before they were made available to the PC market? In really huge numbers? And that was how they came to be associated with Amigas? 216.99.219.170 (talk) 19:18, 12 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Original Amiga computers generated directly Genlock signal. The external hardware were used just to mix the signal of TV source with Amiga gnerated genlock signal and overimposed graphics. See the circuitry of Amiga video connector to check the evidence. --Raffaele Megabyte (talk) 20:28, 19 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Why is the title in italics? Biscuittin (talk) 13:27, 16 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It should not be. This was a mistake, I think. It is a technical term, not a title of a book or anything that merits italics. Also in the wrong project. This is a video production concept. Perhaps computers play some role in modern video production, but this technique is from the earliest days of analog television. More likely "Electronics" might be more apropos? Generator lockingGenlock – I doubt many will recognize Generator locking. Titles should be common names. Genlock is the ubiquitous term. Let's undo this recent rename that was executed without discussion. Kvng (talk) 13:02, 16 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support. Previous move should have been discussed. Google web search [1] [2] supports this move strongly. Andrewa (talk) 15:52, 24 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
