I have a copy of the unabridged A Christmas Carol, and this spirit is named The Ghost of Christmas Past, not the Spirit of Christmas Past. Can we agree that this needs to be changed? Canonblack 03:10, 7 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

When a story has been adapted as often as “A Christmas Carol”, people often combine details from the adaptations with the original story. I have made changes to this entry to bring it back to Dickens’ original work. MacPhilbin (talk) 16:03, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In Dickens' original, Fan is described as "a little girl, much younger than the boy [Scrooge]" and she is in no other scene than the boarding school scene. It's only in the 1951 Alistair Sim movie version is she older and has a deathbed scene. I have changed the entry to match Dickens' original work. Why in the world is the Patrick Stewart version of A Christmas Carol left out of the Appearances list? Cnanninga (talk) 21:12, 8 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Link to Testament of Job?[edit]

I'm not quite sure why this page links to the page on the Testament of Job. The two seem to have little or nothing to do with each other. That said, I'm not comfortable taking it down, in case there's a connection I haven't made.199.8.45.143 20:51, 1 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Apparently gone, or cite section and word/phrase.Sbalfour (talk) 17:48, 28 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

What is it that you want for the article?Sbalfour (talk) 17:36, 28 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Merge to and integrate with Character section of A Christmas Carol[edit]

The three ghosts each have their own article, essentially a quip. In a thorough article about the book, the description and role of major characters will be detailed, especially characters laden with symbolism like these. I think what happened here, and judging from the fly-by or mobile editing done, is that some Jr. high school class was given assignments to write articles for wikipedia, and these resulted. They aren't scholarly or referenced. There is a place for information, and it's where someone redaing and researching the book will find it all together, not having to wikilink across a series of articles. Adding merge tag.Sbalfour (talk) 17:56, 28 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Support These articles are trivia-magnets that are mostly receptacles for lists of adaptations, the majority of which (until I took the lists in hand) were appearances in non-notable individual TV episodes. Almost all edits are of this type and need to be undone. The maintenance workload is larger than it needs to be, as virtually every edit results in the same episode being added in three separate places; often four places with Jacob Marley. I'd suggest merging that as well. MichaelMaggs (talk) 11:54, 19 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Merge, no. Redirect, perhaps. Only content sourced to reliable secondary sources should be merged, and there isn't any in any of these four articles. DrKay (talk) 21:03, 26 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Note that this is being discussed here, where so far the unanimous view (of four) is to keep. Tim riley talk 16:25, 4 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
That's a new discussion. Not so much a change of consensus to 'keep', but to have a new, better, page. MichaelMaggs (talk) 17:25, 4 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep all the pages on the four ghosts. They are likely the most famous and portrayed ghosts in history (sorry Casper) so their stand-alone notability is well-established and sourced. Randy Kryn (talk) 12:44, 12 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Cybernetic Ghost of Christmas Past from the Future[edit]
