Point of view[edit]

Is it just me, or was this article written by one of Gidget Gein's best friends? It doesn't seem neutral in some early parts, particularly concerning Gidget's influence in the band and the direction the band took after he left. 4.252.72.54 01:17, 20 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

this had to be written by gidet gein cause who else could write this way if it wasn't from the subject themselves

Who else would even think about this guy other than himself?

I agree, this looks like something that was written right after his death, and with all due respect for him, this isn't the place for that. (Black Riven (talk) 17:45, 12 October 2008 (UTC))[reply]

He's not even dead, it was a hoax. Article should be speedily deleted...

Do you have any proof that he isn't dead?...sounds like he's dead to me, the Genitorturers made a statement about it.

Oh well Shit, why didn't you say so. If the Genitorturers made a statement about it, then it's gotta be true. Who cares anyway, I mean "spooky kids"? By definition they are just "kids"...Gidget has little jr. high school girls all over the nation sobbing because He OD'd on smack. Someone delete this garbage.

The Genitorturers had known Gidget Gein for "16+" years, and their statement alone is more proof pointing towards the fact he's dead, than you have backing up your "it's a hoax!!1" story.
The name of the band has nothing to do with this, and it's a well known fact that "jr. high school girls" generally don't know anything about Portrait of an American Family era Marilyn Manson, just his new shit.
This article existed before his death, there's absolutely no reason to delete it now.

Check the cites. Google "Gidget Gein Dead". It's not just a rumor on one website, it's more widespread than that. If you can get evidence that he's still kicking, you feel free to cite it and make a section on the rumors. It's been reported on a very reputable Manson fansite (Manson himself giving interviews) and even MTV who report that LA coroners confirm it. Someone try using that to cite it, a bit more reputable considering they're rich as hell and can buy sources from whoever they want. MTV Link: http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1596907/20081013/marilyn_manson.jhtml Oh, and someone re-write this even, it's just copied from that Mansonwiki advertised here. (Or vice versa.)

If he's not dead, burying him was a big mistake ~cailan (talk) 05:08, 27 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

unsourced derogatory material[edit]

I've removed a lot of poorly sourced, uncomplimentary at best material from this article, some involving living third parties. My edit summaries may incorrectly refer in places to blp, but unsourced and dubious uncomplimentary material about the dead is still generally inappropriate content. There also appear to be copyvio issues in some of the material, but since it's not appropriate regardless I didn't chase the sources down. I'd like to second the above if I can, the post is still very obviously biased and unsourced. Whoever wrote the article reverted the pages, because it still sounds like the deluded rantings of a fanboy.108.12.104.6 (talk) 10:55, 11 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Neutrality?[edit]

As above, I think a part of this article is written in a style that favors promotion over fact. --->This sentence from the career section, "Over time his arsenal of art and ideas began to outweigh his position as a Bag Boy and Gidget found a friendship..." is misleading. In the interview on the "Demistifying the Devil" DVD, he describes how the job was becoming emotionally distressful for him, watch the first 60 seconds: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dU6wufOo8dg 137.99.147.184 (talk) 04:55, 7 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yep, the whole kaboodle is poorly written by someone with an axe to grind against Marylin Manson. Not that I care either way, but it's certainly not fit for Wiki-p. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.156.218.116 (talk) 15:38, 5 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
