Faster than Bolt[edit]

This is complete nonsense. Walcott's record was originally reported as 4.72 seconds, then somewhere along the line it was mis-reported as 4.42 seconds, probably by the Daily Mail. This would make Bellerin's time 4.71 seconds.

Bellerin and Arsenal Fan TV?[edit]

Is Hector Bellerin's odd feud with ArsenalFanTV worthy of mention in the article? It seems to have some coverage, see here and here, although I am still a bit on the fence for this one. Inter&anthro (talk) 23:16, 18 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Club career - place of birth[edit]

The article, as it stands, reads that Bellerín was born 'in Barcelona, Catalonia.' which is accurate but incomplete. I have changed it to 'in Barcelona, Catalonia (Spain)' three times but got it reverted. This is the reason why I am opening this section here.

As of today, Catalonia is a Spanish region. Such reference to Catalonia is not complete since Spain is the current international framework for Catalonia. Especially in the context of football, Catalonia does not possess an entity of its own, lacking a federation that is a meber state to UEFA or FIFA.

Moreover, it seems to be common practice to go to great lengths when detailing where people were born. Check [[1]] or [[2]]. Why should Bellerín be an exception? Sam10rc (talk) 00:34, 2 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

This article is not an exception at all. It is standard practice to *only* include a region when referring to a subject's place of birth in the prose. See Clayton Donaldson as a random example. Mattythewhite (talk) 00:41, 2 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

We also have Zinedine Zidane or Andrea Pirlo as two random examples on the contrary. I understand that an English-speaking source may refer to a British subject's place of birth without mentioning explicitly that they were born in the UK, as it may be easily understood. However, it does not seem to be so common for non-UK subjects, whose countries of birth may not be so easily assumed.

On top of that, adding '(Spain)' does not damage the article in any way. Sam10rc (talk) 08:47, 2 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Is there any consensus on this? I found omitting Spain to be confusing, because I am not aware of a country called Catalonia and had to dig through several links, and I still don't understand.

Is Catalonia an independent country now? If it is not, I think the article needs to list Spain. Ninjalectual (talk) 00:19, 11 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
