Misc[edit]

Wanted to comment, the phones are NOT identical: The 3d is 5" x 2.6". The V is 4.78" x 2.44"

  • have a V right here, it is 5"x2.6". Virgin Mobile's posted dimensions are highly suspect, especially since they claim the phone is 5.11oz when it is actually 6.2oz.

--- Just wanted to mention that recent tests on Gingerbread 2.3.3 is vulnerable to attack when using Google Sync, Picasa, etc. Does any one know if Sprint or HTC will use Gingerbread 2.3.4 (which fixes this bug) in the new EVO 3D? This would be better or else clients would have to update the version. Please help if u could give feedback on this matter.

As of June 24th the Sprint EVO 3D ships with 2.3.3, but offers and update to 2.3.4 within the first day. Bilrand (talk) 02:08, 6 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The following false information was removed, as there were no citations to back the information up -

"Wile the 3D images and 3D video on the phone did work and looked very impressive for not requiring 3D glasses, the phone had many problems playing many apps and video games. This was in some part leading to its abrupt downfall.

The failure of this phone and the realization that the Sprint WIMAX 4G network had too many problems to fix, Sprint moved the EVO 3D to there Virgin Mobile platform leaving consumers with the assumption the phone would run the Sprint 4G LTE network, however Sprint abandoned the WIMAX system for the LTE leaving the HTC EVO 3D only being able to use 4G networks in major cities were the WIMAX system was not yet dismantled. Otherwise the phone was backwards compatible to the original 3G system and would default to that. "

  • I have removed the sentence: "It is the first smartphone to come with such functionality" because this is false. It is easy to verify that the HTC was released more than six months after Sharp's SH-03C, 003SH, 005SH, and more than a year after Motorola's MING MT810. The Samsung W960 AMOLED 3D also predates the HTC but I'm not sure of it qualifies as a smartphone.

Criticism Section[edit]

The criticism section is not WP:NPOV and the references are just unmoderated discussion forums, which is WP:SPS. I removed the section. Thx1200 (talk) 17:55, 17 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Reception/Reviews?[edit]

I'd never heard of this phone before seeing this page. I'm guessing it didn't sell very many? Any sales statistics or critical reception of this phone? --71.189.190.62 (talk) 23:41, 12 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
