Requesting corrections (prior to doing it myself)
1. It's not Gothic. Surprising enough, Komsomolskaya Square facade and tower ornaments were designed in Pseudo-Russian style mimicking Schusev's Kazansky_Rail_Terminal. OK, it's got a steeple but it's not enough to be Gothic.
2. Nothing is said about the legendary inefficiency of this hotel. Emporis.com says it's using only 19% of space (rentable-to-total). Khrushev (04/11/1955 "Redundancy" decree) says it has 356 rooms instead of 1000 that could be built for the money. Any reliable backing to any of these numbers?
3. It wasn't supposed to be 'the finest luxury hotel in Moscow'. Mordvinov's Ukraina ranked higher. That's why Mordvinov received Stalin prize first class, while Polyakov got second class (and was stripped of the prize in 1955).
