Proposed merge of Federal Islamic Republic of the Comoros with History of the Comoros (1978–89)[edit]

The establishment of the Federal Islamic Republic of the Comoros coincided with the establishment of the Abdallah regime of 1978-1989. Particularly considering that our article for the Federal Islamic Republic is little more than a stub, the content of these articles should be merged. _signed,Rosguill ^talk 20:08, 21 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The topic is notable and has value as a separate article, and many similar articles exist on Wikipedia, but you are correct that as it stands the current article is a stub. However, that isn't really anything to merge, as there is no referenced information, so I feel the more relevant question is whether to keep this article or redirect it. Support merge, merging to Federal Islamic Republic of the Comoros as that it the broader topic (lasting through to 2001). I accept that the other article is much more developed, but attribution is preserved through the merge templates, and a merge will stop readers missing the highly-relevant material on the history article if this find the Federal Islamic Republic page.
