This is a rather wide-ranging topic with lots of literature to be reviewed and so far completely neglected on Wikipedia. As it is closely tied up with Russian "Sophiology" on one hand and with Russian iconography on the other, I thought it best to start a new page instead of subsuming it into Holy Wisdom, although a brief summary will have to be placed there too. Ru-wiki has a dedicated page ru:Премудрость созда Себе дом for just the "builded her house" type. The Russian page is also quite poor, it is basically a ripped-off description of one specific icon, taken from here. It describes an icon of Kiev, which I believe is identical to this one. It is of the "late" (18th century) type turning the "Holy Wisdom" icon into a species of Theotokos icon (there is also a redlink to "София — Премудрость Божия (новгородская)", i.e. a possible separate article on the Novgorod type; it seems better to treat both types in context here. --dab (𒁳) 13:19, 4 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
