Jenkins

[edit]

I suggest a rename and redirect following the vote. - 71.75.35.33 (talk) 12:41, 27 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree, these are now two separate OSS Projects and have a life and community of their own. A redirect would be totally incorrect Duncan Mills (talk) 20:59, 24 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

History of Rename/Fork

[edit]

The rename / fork is important and relevant. In my opinion, the removed paragraph should be restored, although it should be expanded to also record the differing opinions on whether Jenkins is a fork or a rename. Pelegri (talk) 05:00, 31 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Done, with effort made to fairly represent the current situation --jodastephen (talk) 09:12, 31 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. It's much better if an external observer does the changes. Let's see what happens next. Pelegri (talk) 14:18, 31 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I put the sentence "Both the Jenkins and Hudson projects appear to consider the other to be a fork" with a citation needed tag. On the Jenkins' website [1], we can read in their Introductory Articles section : "Note that many links below refer to Hudson, the original name of Jenkins." I think that it's an proof of the fact the Jenkins' community considers it as a fork of Hudson, and not the contrary. So, the sentence present in the article should, in my opinion, be deleted. 82.220.1.196 (talk) 07:46, 23 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hudson trademark

[edit]

"Oracle claimed that it acquired the Hudson trademark with its purchase of Sun Microsystems. But a well-placed former Sun Microsystems employee has contacted The Reg to say that Sun took an "explicit decision" not to apply for a trademark on the name Hudson. A search of the US Patent and Trademark Office's website throws up 623 trademarks for Hudson for many things, but not for the project Oracle owns." -- http://www.theregister.co.uk/2010/12/03/oracle_doesnt_own_hudson/ —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.44.244.108 (talk) 10:58, 17 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

No 3.4.0

[edit]

The latest version is 3.3.3: https://www.eclipse.org/hudson/changelog.php https://git.eclipse.org/c/hudson/org.eclipse.hudson.core.git/log/ https://www.eclipse.org/hudson/download.php

There is a page about version 3.4.0: https://projects.eclipse.org/projects/technology.hudson

But it is about a planned and never released version: https://projects.eclipse.org/projects/technology.hudson/releases/3.4.0 "Hudson 3.4.0 will be a Minor release in Eclipse terms, encapsulating new features and bug fixes for Hudson 3. At this stage we do not anticpate any library changes (hence this is only classed as a minor release)" "Bugs and Enhancements desired for this release should be tagged in the whiteboard with candidate-3.4.0 as the tag." — Preceding unsigned comment added by -- (talkcontribs) 07:38, 11 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
