Separating this school from Hurst Lodge School[edit]

This is a bit of a tricky one. As far as I can establish - and there is not a lot of reliable coverage - Hurst Lodge School was an independent school in Berkshire which merged with Hawley Place School, for which we do not have an article - there is a reference at Hawley, Hampshire#Amenities. The merged school was on the Hawley Place site and used the name HawleyHurst. This school apparently went into administration and closed in 2020 (unreferenced statement in Hurst Lodge article). The school has now re-opened, still on the Hawley Place site but now using the name Hurst Lodge. There have been edits to the article on Hurst Lodge School from editors who may have a conflict of interest and who have copy/pasted text from the new school's website. I received advice on the WP Schools project page to create a new article called Hurst Lodge School (established 2020), which I have now done. The history of the three schools remains a bit convuluted. For instance, I have included a link to the inspection report for HawleyHurst, because the Independent Schools Inspectorate seems to think this is the same school as the new Hurst Lodge School, despite the change in name. Hello - I have edited the page today to combine the history of the schools, so that the stub notice can be removed from this page and that the old Hurst Lodge page can be deleted. That way it's all a bit tidier and less confusing for everyone, plus lots of references. I am a new editor and don't know how to transfer references from the old page to the new one other than retyping everything, but I created a notes section so they are there and not lost. I will try to learn how to do this over the next few weeks, unless someone knows how to do it quickly? I'm happy to join and be part the wiki editor community. Thanks for your help and advice in advance. SeraphinaBlue (talk) 17:11, 14 April 2021 (UTC)SeraphinaBlue[reply]
Hi, welcome to Wikipedia. The advice I received at WikiProject Schools was to keep the two articles separate, but that isn't necessarily set in stone. I will post a Welcome on your talk page so you can read about how to make references. A stub tag isn't necessarily a bad thing - it just indicates that there is more that could be said about the topic. Tacyarg (talk) 02:52, 15 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
