Contested deletion

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because many people (especially fans) learn a lot about the company through this page — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.247.110.135 (talk) 00:00, 17 February 2015 (UTC)

  • The issue is that ultimately something being useful is not a reason to keep an article in and of itself. That said, I was able to find some coverage of the company. Whether or not there is enough out there to warrant an entry apart from its parent company JYP Entertainment is debatable, but there's enough of an assertion of notability overall to where it doesn't really fit WP:A7 criteria. It is, however, still well within Mcmatter's rights to take this to AfD, so the only way you could save this from deletion is to provide coverage in reliable sources. So far I have to say that I don't know that this really merits an article outside of JYP and could probably be merged and redirected to JYP_Entertainment#Big_Hit_Entertainment. The BigHit ent. page was vandalized with jokes. The person who edited the BigHit wiki page changed BigHit to JinHit, an inside joke with in the Army-BTS Fandom. Some things stated within the page are false and some parts include swears/curse words. Although I am apart of the fandom of BTS (a popular boy group under BigHit ent.) I believe these changes and inside jokes are necessary to the actual wikipedia page, and are disrespectful to the company and other artists/groups under BigHit ent.

I'll list the changes needing to be made. 1. Change everytime "JinHit" is mentioned to "BigHit", the REAL name of the company. 2. It was established by Bang Si-Hyuk, not Kim Seok-Jin 3. In the history section, RM (Kim Nam-Joon) was mentioned and it was stated he was formerly known as Rap Monster, and the "President of Namkanda". The "President of Namkanda part is false. He was only formerly known as Rap Monster. 4. In the 'Company Values and Investments' section, BTS is mentioned with parenthesis "7 dorks to be exact". That isn't apart of anything and shouldn't be there. 5. Bang Si-Hyuk is mentioned in the said section, and once again with parenthesis "not for long tho" after stating that he was the largest shareholder of the company. That shouldn't be there. 6. Listed under the Artists tab, BTS is put as "BTS (7 crackheads)". The 'crackhead' part is unnecessary. 7. In the Soloist tab, RM, J-Hope, and Agust D have parenthesis next to their names, stating these 3 phrases: "STREAM MONO bitchessss", "STREAM AGUSTO D", and "Sunshine, also stream DAYDREAM". Those shouldn't be there either. 8. Under the Actors tab, Kim Tae-hyung is listed with the parenthesis next to it stating "Stream SCENERY". Remove that too.

(Those are all the changes that should be made. Removing the inappropriate changes and false information would be helpful, as not to confuse potential business or people looking for REAL information on BigHit ent. Thank you, that is all). 2601:601:9700:D1C:F08A:C20E:3258:6E7E (talk) 20:10, 20 February 2019 (UTC)

Pledis Entertainment Acquisition

So I don't have to link it several times, here are the sources regarding the acquisition of Pledis Entertainment.

If we ever get an official announcement, by all means source it and update the page. --Shiori (talk) 00:34, 13 January 2020 (UTC)

Even after the official announcement the misinformation is still broad. Big Hit acquired the majority shares of Pledis. This doesn't make Pledis a subsidiary or a regular Big Hit Label like Source Music. Acquiring means a company buys and onws another company. Majority shareholder doesn't mean owner. I urge to watch this page, maybe even protect it in some way until the flood of misinformation has settled. -> BTS’s Agency Big Hit Becomes Majority Shareholder Of K-Pop Company Pledis, Home To Seventeen & NU’EST --2A02:810B:4040:3618:DC5:528C:1DDC:DA97 (talk) 09:22, 25 May 2020 (UTC)

Abdotorg TNDJ INC. right above is also in caps and no one changed that. It's why I restored Belift in caps. -- Carlobunnie (talk) 13:55, 19 September 2020 (UTC)

There is a comma missing between BTS and TXT in this section:

Big Hit Entertainment Co., Ltd. (Korean: 빅히트 엔터테인먼트) is a South Korean entertainment company established in 2005 by Bang Si-hyuk. It currently manages soloist Lee Hyun, and idol groups BTS TXT and Enhypen —it is also formerly home to acts such as soloist Lim Jeong-hee, and groups 8Eight, 2AM, and GLAM. The company has multiple subsidiaries, including Source Music, Pledis Entertainment and KOZ Entertainment, collectively known as Big Hit Labels.

In the intro of the wiki page " It currently manages soloist Lee Hyun, and idol groups BTS, TXT and Enhypen," I love my boys Enhypen but there is a distinction between Belift and BigHit entertainment. BigHit entertainment (website https://ibighit.com) does not have Enhypen as part of their roster and Belift is separate entity next to and just like BigHit entertainment under BigHit Labels (source: BigHit corporate briefing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MyGF8mFDMeI&feature=emb_title). Belift has their own website (beliftlab.com). We all know BigHit produces the musical aspect of Enhypen but management is CJ's work. Entertainment are labels who just don't help produce music but also manages them; therefore, including Enhypen here could be misleading. Instead, I hope we can list BELIFT along with other subsidiaries in the line: "The company has multiple subsidiaries, including Source Music, Pledis Entertainment[5] and KOZ Entertainment,[6] collectively known as Big Hit Labels." Regarding BH investment in YG Plus

All the korean articles I have seen since the news came out on Jan 27, said that BH "will invest" or "will be investing" x amt of $ into YG Plus. Even the RS article that Aleric Griffith just added to the Subsidiaries section says they "will invest", not that they've already done so and thus currently already own part of the company. Were all these articles not simply just announcing the news of the deal that will take place, rather than saying that it had already happened? Or am I misinterpreting their meaning? -- Carlobunnie (talk) 05:52, 11 February 2021 (UTC)

I agree. Maybe it will take a couple of weeks, like the transition of BH from private to public. I think we should stick with what the official website says, at least until BH confirms it. YG Plus, TNDJ and beORIGIN (formerly misspelled as Borijin) are not mentioned there. I think TNDJ has something to do with Japan management, and beORIGIN handles publishing (you can see the name on the HYYH notes). - Ïvana (talk) 19:05, 11 February 2021 (UTC)
@Ïvana: I honestly think the mention in the prose should be all that's there for now (it could be expanded with a bit more detail if anything, an additional ref or two and some grammar fixes). I don't like how YG Plus is cited under the Subs section, and I don't think the percentage should be mentioned there either, but I don't want any edit warring if I attempt to change it so idk what to do. -- Carlobunnie (talk) 03:33, 12 February 2021 (UTC)

Hi, YG PLUS is not a subsidiary, to be a subsidiary a company must be a majority shareholder, BigHit are not. YG is the bigger shareholder at around 27-29%, Bighit and BENX both invest, and it's the sum of their investments that make up the ~18%. Please correct. Jamjamjay (talk) 11:19, 5 March 2021 (UTC)

Big Hit EntertainmentHybe Corporation – per WP:NCCORP. From now on, Big Hit has been changed to HYBE -St3095 (?) 03:50, 19 March 2021 (UTC)

@St3095: Should it be HYBE Corporation instead, just like YG, SM and JYP which is not in sentence case? Paper9oll (📣📝) 04:43, 19 March 2021 (UTC)
@Paper9oll: No, it should not (per WP:ALLCAPS)! Check this new update! -St3095 (?) 05:49, 19 March 2021 (UTC)
@St3095: Erm, as per WP:ALLCAPS is to use sentence case. However, as per MOS:TMRULES, all caps is allowed if it is acronym or initialism. However, even though not sourced, YG, SM and JYP are acronym of their founder name.
But the source you provided is stylized as all-caps also. Any idea if HYPE HYBE is acronym or initialism? Paper9oll (📣📝) 06:53, 19 March 2021 (UTC)
@St3095: And also, I think we have to hold back on the requested move as per various source, the Korean authorities provided the name change however the shareholders have not, they are planning to meet in March 30 to approve or disapprove the new name and structure. @Direct700: Thanks for pointing it out, I have amended the typo. Paper9oll (📣📝) 07:09, 19 March 2021 (UTC)
In Korea, English company names, especially in such cases, tend to be all capitalized. HYBE also consistently use capital letters in press releases and promotional videos. --Direct700 (talk) 07:12, 19 March 2021 (UTC)
@Direct700: Yes I'm aware of that hence I questioned why stylized as Hybe Corporation instead of HYBE Corporation inline with YG Entertainment, SM Entertainment and JYP Entertainment. What I'm not too sure on is whether HYBE is acronym of initialism of something or not? Like SM is either means Soo Man (the founder) or Star Museum, YG is Yang Goo, JYP is Jin-young Park. However, the Wikipedia article doesn't actually write about it. Paper9oll (📣📝) 07:19, 19 March 2021 (UTC)

Does the name change of Big Hit Entertainment to Bighit Music pertain to this as well? Or is that just information that can simply be added into the article? 52-whalien (talk) 05:06, 19 March 2021 (UTC)

@52-whalien: Yes, it should be pertain to this as you would be changing the lead section and infobox as well. From my understanding is that, Big Hit Entertainment is now Big Hit Music. Whereas as HYBE Corporation is the parent/holding company. Paper9oll (📣📝) 06:22, 19 March 2021 (UTC)
Based on the new presentation provided by the company itself, I think it's better to have two different articles: HYBE Corporation, that encopases the parent company; and BIGHIT Music as an independent company within HYBE Corporation "HYBE: New Brand Presentation".. Failing to make a clear separation will lead to confusion between both terms. Since HYBE is an "umbrella" company, it is necessary to make a separation, also because now BIGHIT Music is specialized in music production, artist management and communication, which is different from HYBE itself. "Big Hit Entertainment Officially Introduces New Company Name "HYBE", New Structure, Building, And More".. Army.editor98 (talk) 09:51, 19 March 2021 (UTC)
You're right! Once HYBE Corporation takes effect, it would be right to move the "Artists", "Former artists", "Concerts", and "Discography" sections to a new wikipedia article which is Big Hit Music since it would now be under the HYBE Labels. Iamluke16 (talk) 12:20, 19 March 2021 (UTC)

@Iamluke16: If so, what will happen to the current page? I don't think this is just a renamed of the company but rather restructure instead, kind of Google Inc. become Alphabet Inc. in 2015. Paper9oll (🔔🧾) 12:40, 19 March 2021 (UTC)
@Paper9oll: Since they are two different things, the current page would be renamed to HYBE Corporation and fill it with information regarding HYBE Corp, and only HYBE. Sections such as artist and others shall be removed and moved to BIGHIT Music and their respective articles as they are different companies encompassed in one and working in different areas and services. The new draft BIGHIT Music should be further explained and bettered in order to fully understand the new structure for other people looking for information about HYBE and/or BIGHIT.Army.editor98 (talk) 12:56, 19 March 2021 (UTC)

- Are we in a consensus that Big Hit Entertainment should be renamed to HYBE Corporation which involves eliminating the "Artists", "Concerts" and "Discography" sections; and start a new article for BIGHIT Music with the aforementioned sections being transferred to the new article? If so, please I kindly ask you to help me improve the new article so that it meets requirements and has the enough information. Army.editor98 (talk)

  • Oppose We need to remember WP:CRYSTAL. The name change still needs to be confirmed at the shareholder meeting on March 30th[4]. Company website[5] still lists company name as Big Hit Entertainment, Co. and company stock[6] is still listed as Big Hit Entertainment, Co. Changing the name of the article to HYBE before Big Hit Entertainment officially changes their name would be very premature and would create unnecessary confusion. This proposed move should be put on hold until everything is finalized. Sn1ker12 (talk) 09:08, 21 March 2021 (UTC)
  • Oppose My thoughts are similar to Sn1ker12's. I believe it's too soon and we should wait. The name change with beNX/Weverse, while not a page move/rename issue, was a similar situation and I had asked for advice about it on the WP:COMPANIES talk page. The response I received was basically that we should "wait until after the name change is official" (or possibly longer) esp if "reliable sources keep using the former name", which is the case here. Secondary sources still refer to BHE as BHE, not HYBE. HYBE is only mentioned in ref to BHE as being its future name if shareholders agree. -- Carlobunnie (talk) 17:24, 21 March 2021 (UTC)
The discussion above is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

Correction Request Subsidiaries Section - Hybe America not a Subsidiary

The shareholder meeting approved all name changes, so there's still one mistake in the subsidiary section. As you can see in "HYBE: NEW BRAND PRESENTATION" (see at minute 7:30) from March 19, it says "HYBE is made up of HYBE HQ and HYBE America", confirming Hybe America is not a subsidiary but a branch. A branch is the local business extension of a company. --2A02:810C:CFBF:F7B4:5443:86F7:7E1A:F9E (talk) 10:11, 31 March 2021 (UTC)

Additional proof: The presentation video clearly does not list HYBE America with the subsidiaries which are all assigned to the 3 corporation sections, HYBE Labels, HYBE Solutions & HYBE Platforms. Great job though for whoever correctly identified YG Plus as an affiliat, a company only with minority shares with the parent company in contrast to the subsidiaries with the majority of shares or 100% of shares with the parent company. --2A02:810C:CFBF:F7B4:5443:86F7:7E1A:F9E (talk) 14:26, 31 March 2021 (UTC)
Seems like I have to retract this due to the merger of HYBE and Ithaca Holdings. HYBE America will gain Ithaca Holdings with all its subsidiaries including labels, publishing etc., so that HYBE America, based on the Variety article, isn't just a branch anymore. Variety: "HYBE will acquire through HYBE America, its wholly owned subsidiary, a 100% stake in Ithaca Holdings and its properties".[7] --2A02:810C:CFBF:F7B4:5443:86F7:7E1A:F9E (talk) 14:14, 2 April 2021 (UTC)
@2A02:810C:CFBF:F7B4:5443:86F7:7E1A:F9E You're not exactly wrong, my own interpretation is that HYBE consisting of HYBE HQ (which is South Korea office) and HYBE America. Hence HYBE Corp is the holding company (like Alphabet Inc) for HYBE HQ and HYBE America where both are subsidiaries itself. As per this source [8] from Korea Times, HYBE Labels, HYBE Solutions and HYBE Platforms are considered division and inside each division are subsidiary. Paper9oll (🔔📝) 14:39, 2 April 2021 (UTC)
The official website says "HYBE is composed of HYBE Headquarters and HYBE AMERICA. Business division includes Label, Solution and Platform.", where Labels, Solutions and Platforms are under HYBE Headquarters according to the presentation video. --Chiyako92 15:51, 2 April 2021 (UTC)
@Chiyako92: Yup. I have updated the section accordingly from Subsidiaries > Division and subsidiaries to better reflect the correct structuring. However, imo HYBE HQ needs to be mentioned somewhere currently there is no mentions of it in the article. Paper9oll (🔔📝) 15:59, 2 April 2021 (UTC)

@Paper9oll: You're doing a good job. On March 19 when HYBE introduced the new company structure, "HYBE = HYBE HQ + HYBE AMERICA" was very clear. With this ITHACA HOLDINGS merge/acquisition everything gets confusing. For now how you've done is good. We have to see though how HYBE AMERICA really falls into the new company structure, as you display now or under HYBE LABELS. It's tricky but we can't possibly be perfect HYBE mind readers, so thank you for the good work so far. [On a side note, be aware of additional company changes possibly being requested for BigHit Music/HYBE 360/HYBE IP. This started on April 1 and so far has no official announcement, especially no official proof on the new hybecorp site which went online March 31.] --2A02:810C:CFBF:F7B4:5443:86F7:7E1A:F9E (talk) 23:46, 2 April 2021 (UTC)

@Carlobunnie: What is your thought on the inclusion of HYBE HQ? Should we add it like Chiyako92 example above? You can see my thought above if you have not, just wanted some thoughts about it before I add it.

@Paper9oll: I think it's fine. I read over the discussion above and I understand the reasoning behind updating it that way. My only thing is (like always) just make sure we have adequate prose (whether it's one sentence or more) explaining Hybe HQ's makeup+good supporting sources. Whatever you guys decide, I'll adapt accordingly. -- Carlobunnie (talk) 04:54, 3 April 2021 (UTC)
@Carlobunnie: Ok noted, thanks for giving your view. Paper9oll (🔔📝) 04:55, 3 April 2021 (UTC)

Under the Hybe Labels section, should anything be mentioned about Hybe making BHM a private, unlisted co. separate from its other subsidiaries? (That paperwork will be finalized in July, along w the absorption of 360+IP). To the best of my knowledge it's the only 100% fully-owned subsid under the Labels Div so that's probably worth noting. I've been tracking updates about the filings as they surface on Naver but would like additonal opinions before making any new additions. -- Carlobunnie (talk) 19:50, 5 April 2021 (UTC)

@Carlobunnie: Mix feelings and not too sure as under HYBE HQ, we mentioned that Under each division are wholly or partially owned subsidiaries of its parent corporation. The wholly word pretty much explain the structure, however it's not precise. If the information were to be mentioned, I think it should be under History section so as it doesn't looks half-baked. If we write it under Divisions and subsidiaries, then I feel we should write for the rest of the subsidiaries listed or maybe put them in brackets like (100%) or (49%) with source beside it. Ithaca deal closed on May 7

I've been wondering about this for some time now and would like to hear anyone's thoughts. The Ithaca acquisition was finalized on May 7 and I wanted to update the page accordingly, but I haven't been able to find any articles on Naver that mention it. Ik there's company documentation available to the public where the information is stated, as seen in the screenshot in that tweet, but idk if that could be used as an acceptable source. -- Carlobunnie (talk) 22:22, 22 May 2021 (UTC)

@Carlobunnie: I've been looking for a source since I saw that tweet. I found some (1 and 2) but they only mention when the acquisition will happen, not that it did. And this one reproduces the official documentation. No idea if that's valid. - Ïvana (talk) 03:26, 23 May 2021 (UTC)
@Carlobunnie: Yup the documentation is acceptable. However, from the sources provided by Ivana, it seems like only the South Korean portion was completed only. The documentation also stated it as scheduled so maybe there is another document. Given that, Ithaca is based in US instead of South Korea, the deal have to be completed at US side as well in addition to South Korea side. So far, I can't find any documentation stating it has been completed at US side. Paper9oll (🔔📝) 04:54, 23 May 2021 (UTC)
@Ïvana: the K5 ref is the exact documentation I was referring to. I forget what Bora said the website is called, but to the best of my knowledge it's a reliable source. @Paper9oll: based on all the translations I've seen of the documentation May 7 is the final date. -- Carlobunnie (talk) 11:02, 23 May 2021 (UTC)
@Carlobunnie: Ok noted, I guess May 7 is the final date. However, what about the US side of the deal as the K5 document is for SK side only. Of course, Hybe Corp is SK-based but Hybe America is US-based hence even though the parent is SK-based, the US side also need to be closed. Paper9oll (🔔📝) 11:08, 23 May 2021 (UTC)
In case it sounds confusing, think of it like immigration. When you travel from South Korea to US, you need to clear South Korea immigration and once you reach US, you also need to clear US immigration. It doesn't matter if you Korean or Korean-American as one would need to clear both countries immigration. This is the best layman explanation I can think of/use as example. Paper9oll (🔔📝) 11:27, 23 May 2021 (UTC)
@Paper9oll: I understand what you're saying, but at the same time we have no way to know when—if ever—any updates will be published by American media. With that in mind, how long then do you propose we leave the wording open as though nothing has taken place yet? -- Carlobunnie (talk) 14:22, 29 May 2021 (UTC)
@Carlobunnie: So ya ... the SEC filing documentation is what we are looking for. However, it doesn't seem to be published yet by SEC. Currently, the only document that's available on SEC for Hybe Co Ltd is Form D which is simply registration information of the company and show nothing of the M&A or subsidiaries. The document we are looking for is Form 8-K and should look something like this. Example document is acquistion of Harman International by Samsung Electronics and the information can be confirmed by press release released a day later by Samsung. Another example is this, a acquisition deal between Ithaca and Loop Media (both US-based companies).
However, even without those document, we can now update the article to conclude the deal using this document and also the K5 document. The quarterly earnings report for March 2021 under section 6.1, you can see Braun name is already listed there as board of directors. Hence, we can assume that the deal is fully closed and when the SEC documentation is published, we just to add it. Paper9oll (🔔📝) 15:40, 29 May 2021 (UTC)

Do we need to keep the sources next to the names of each of the individual ent. companies under HL if the acquisition of each is already mentioned+sourced in the History section? I remember not removing them when reordering the page because there'd been a bit of disruptive editing prior to that between ppl who did or didn't consider x or y company to be under BHE at the time, so the sources were left to preserve the peace. However, we haven't had any problems since then, so shouldn't it be ok to either remove them now, or merge them into the applicable parts of the prose? -- Carlobunnie (talk) 04:31, 16 August 2021 (UTC)

Update Request

The article is outdated; request mainly based on the HYBE Corporation's official semiannual report "반기보고서 (2021.06)": LINK

I understand the sentiment that besides HYBE AMERICA CEO Yoon his Co-CEO Scooter Braun is being omitted.

The business divisions/subsidiaries were updated, the last one even on August 31, see report "주요사항보고서(회사합병결정)" (same link to public disclosure info).

Current status of divisions/subsidiaries:

HYBE Labels

  • BigHit Music
  • Belift Lab
  • Source Music
  • Pledis Entertainment
  • KOZ Entertainment
  • HYBE Labels America
  • HYBE Labels Japan
  • Ithaca Holdings

HYBE Solutions

  • HYBE
  • HYBE America
  • HYBE Japan
  • HYBE Edu

Explanation: HYBE 360 & HYBE IP were merged into the parent company on July 1, Superb on August 31. Why are the parent company and HYBE America as well as HYBE Japan in Solutions now? The HYBE Corporation has HYBE 360 & HYBE IPX (small change in name) as departments now, so departments of HYBE have the function relevant to be Solutions. The same applies to HYBE Japan which was created with the former in Solutions listed subsidiaries HYBE Solutions Japan & HYBE T&D Japan.

The official website (Company -> Business) doesn't reflect the changes announced in the reports though. That's either neglect or simplification. I suggest to go eithr way, but not the outdated one.

Affiliated companies aren't listed anymore, companies HYBE owns a minority share. Is there a specific reason? Such companies are YG Plus, Supertone, Showroom to name a few. --2A02:810C:CFBF:B7E8:753B:7504:9E28:2E85 (talk) 14:47, 31 August 2021 (UTC)

The merger schedule is is only initiated and will conclude on November 2/November 3 if it goes through all approval instances. --2A02:810C:CFBF:B7E8:753B:7504:9E28:2E85 (talk) 15:41, 31 August 2021 (UTC)

Per WP:NCCORP, "the legal status suffix of a company (such as Inc., plc, LLC, and those in other languages such as GmbH, AG, and S.A.) is not normally included in the article title". It's only used to disambiguate, and you can either use "the legal status, an appended (company), or other suffix" (like Corporation, in this case). Personally, if we want to move the article, I think it should be to Hybe (company) since it's normally referred to as such. --Chiyako92 08:27, 17 April 2022 (UTC)

HYBE SOLUTIONS Changes

By now SuperB was already - like HYBE 360 & HYBE IP - dissolved and all operations merged into the parent company HYBE CORPORATION. However, they created a new subsidiary by the name HYBE IM (IM = Interactive Media) while the operations of HYBE 360 & HYBE IP were put into the internal department named HYBE IPX.

HYBE EDU doesn't exist anymore, as of June 2022. It was acquired by NAVER and dissolved. Its operations were merged into the subsidiary CAKE of the NAVER subsidiary SNOW. While SNOW is a company, it operates an app by the same name, similar to Snap Chat. CAKE is an educational company as well as a language learning app. The official HYBE report on the topic says (see by law public HYBE business reports), HYBE CORPRATION expects to receive 20% of the CAKE company shares.

HYBE OSB (OSB = Original Story B..., probably Business) is rather unknown but seen in the job offer section of the official HYBE CORPORATRION website (only in Korean). No matter if department or subsidiary, the job offers describe HYBE OSB as about the original story IP (webtoons, web novels, animations, movies, dramas).

Not done for now: The purpose of the subsection under BTS is not to list all members, only acts within the group. He will be added once he debuts as a soloist. - Ïvana (talk) 18:43, 16 July 2023 (UTC)
He is a solo artist, Spotify shows his as a solo artists with solo songs, sweet night was the record breaking solo song with the most #1’s in iTunes history at the time of release and Christmas tree was the highest charting ost on the billboard hot100. Finally, on KOMCA Kim Taehyung has credit for songs he has written as a solo artists. Jin is on the list when he has only releases solo songs and no album, it is not right that Taehyung is not on the list as a solo artist. The man has 14 million followers of his solo work on Spotify and that’s just with 3 songs and no album releases. 92.236.38.244 (talk) 21:36, 18 July 2023 (UTC)

Not all BTS members are listed.

Under the Bighit label all BTS members names are listed with the link direct you to their stories, But not V (kim Taehyung).

Please add it or let us know if he is not the member of the 7 groups.

But then there is his name inside BTS memos. Please fix this issue ASAP.

Thank you HaruAdam (talk) 01:16, 17 July 2023 (UTC)

As explained already in the section above this one, only the members who have already made their official debuts as soloists are listed. When Taehyung releases his official debut album or single then his name will be added to the section. -- Carlobunnie (talk) 01:18, 17 July 2023 (UTC)
The op’s comment is nonsense, they say they have to release a solo album/song. Two things, Jin has not released an album or an ep but has released solo songs. Kim Taehyung has debuted as a soloist. He brought out sweet night, Christmas tree, stigma and singularity as solo songs just to name a few. In fact his was the highest charting ost on the billboard hot 100 with Christmas tree and had the highest number 1’s in iTunes history when he released sweet night, so the explanation does not hold true. 92.236.38.244 (talk) 21:00, 18 July 2023 (UTC)
Also, Kim Taehyung is registered on KOMCA as a solo artist as he is credited for writing/ co writing solo songs. 92.236.38.244 (talk) 21:31, 18 July 2023 (UTC)

This argument doesn’t hold. Members are members irrespective of their solo debut. Especially that Wikipedia pages in other languages don’t have this mistake. I recommend to correct this for the sake of Wikipedia credibility.

It is not an argument. That section is not listing the names of members of the band but rather artists under Hybe's various record labels. Taehyung as V is part of BTS so he listed as a member on the BTS page under the Members section. This article has no section or subsection called Members because it's purpose is not to identify individual members of the musical acts listed, but rather musicians or musical acts only under Hybe and/or its various labels. I have seen the very misinformed discourse going on on Twitter saying editors removed V's name as part of some supposed agenda or vendetta against him but that is simply not the case and the persons spreading that are very, very wrong. -- Carlobunnie (talk) 13:21, 18 July 2023 (UTC)

The article has stated in the first section that RM was the first to be signed but this is false. In Season's Greeting 2019 j-hope and RM both confirmed that j-hope was the first trainee to be signed to BH for their new boy group project. So he was not only the first member to be signed but the first trainee altogether. Please correct this as it has been confirmed by the members multiple times now.
