I have marked the article as totally {{Unsourced}}. The two sources provided are irrelevant to the central claims of the article. See this temporary version for the sourced content.

I do not have access to the Economist source...

...but as it is also used in the Wikipedia articles on Shor language, Votic language, Uralic languages and Shamanism, I must assume it is only used to source claims about languages and customs, not the "state". -- Petri Krohn (talk) 21:21, 28 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
