Puffery on forensics

Please, please quit putting claims about championships in the section on forensics without sources independent of the school. Also the language you use needs to be more precise. Your only source not directly aligned with the school is from the county education district, and it showed one student in one year. That says nothing to consistency. You will need secondary sources such as newspapers, magazines or books to reference any claims you make and then the section you write needs to be written in language that conveys the precise information that is in the article. No one is trying to pick on your debate team here. Secondary references are what is required for claims of achievement in extracurricular activities. Example: A state football championship would be referenced to the state high school athletic association or a newspaper article on the championship game. If you can't find sources, it just doesn't belong in the article. You have 0 references showing that the forensic kids did anything consistently. Information especially that that is making some sort of claim of notability like championships, etc. must be referenced. You can't make a claim that is not. WP:WPSCH/AG#WNTI and the school article guidelines in general

The school article guidelines are there for you to read, so I am not going to belabor them at the moment. There is nothing in them that supports the inclusion of the academics section that was here as it was written and something that definitely says you shouldn't have what was here. A more general note is this: School articles are not to be written for the school's population or the community they are in. The school has its own website to put that kind of information on. The things that should go in a school article are things which are unique about a school, things that are notable because they have had coverage in independent media like newspapers and magazines. Things that would interest someone who may read the article from the other side of the country or the other side of the world. Every school has some sort of class schedule. Every school has a lunch period. Most every school has different levels of academic classes ( a discussion of the highest level program , a brief discussion, might be appropriate, if referenced.) Every school has some faculty prep times. Every school has a minimum credit level for graduation (in fact that is the most mundane part of what was there, as that isn't even set by the local school. It is generally set by the state.) Every school has different curricula for different students on different career paths. And last but not least, every school has certain courses which are required to graduate. If you are going to edit school articles, you really should read the entirety of the school article guidelines. The portion cited in the title is the part that says not to put mundane stuff in. Can someone provide a reference for this please? I did a quick Google search and see a passing reference to the fact he may have been raised in Franklin, but nothing to indicate he went to this school.--Arg342 (talk) 13:02, 30 November 2012 (UTC)
