Who is deleting articles regarding the criticisms regarding ICFAI

Let the world knows what really it is ..!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jaisonshereen (talkcontribs) 06:40, 15 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No Please keep it separate.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Rayvikram (talkcontribs)

Can you clarify why the Case Development Centre would need to have its own article? Accurizer 12:23, 13 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Merge - It seems clear that the content from ICFAI Business School- Case Development Centre should be merged into the IBS-CDC of the ICFAI article. There isn't any indication that the Case Development Centre justifies its own article, and it would seem that combining the two would make the ICFAI article more complete and coherent. [[:Since no reasons have been provided within 6 days to retain both articles, I have completed the merger. Accurizer 14:21, 19 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It is the best University to learn the subjects.

ICFAI, recognised or not.???[edit]

Yes ICFAI is recognised for Distance Learning programs. In India a university need permission from UGC to operate , and permission from DEC to define courses.

ICFAI presently have permission from DEC.

ICFAI Controversy[edit]

What about the ongoing controversy related to the program that ICFAI offers under the CFA name? Are any courses offered by ICFAI recognised abroad? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 125.22.241.130 (talk) 04:34, 19 February 2007 (UTC). No courses of ICFAI (distance learning) are approved within India, so no question of being approved abroad[reply]

Answer: You should first understand the difference between charter and degree.. The controversy is in the charter and not in degree and all degree programs run by ICFAI are recognized as they are conducted by UGC recognised university not a private body unlike CFAI

In so far as employment is considered ICFAI Business School still has weight in the market. However, except for the Hyderabad branch- which has been accrued a deemed university status- it is not an UGC recognized University. This poses a problem when a student wants to apply for further education in the USA.Because they require a 4 year undergraduate degree and most arts & sciences programs in India span only 3 yrs. There is also a glitch in case the student wants to apply for a residency/extension of VISA from UK, USA or Australia since the university is not in the database of the recognized universities held by universities abraod.

Re-stubbifying the article[edit]

Pursuant to OTRS ticket 2007112910011623, I have taken a look at the content of this article. Since its start, this article has swung back and forth between a complete hatchet job and a whitewash -- neither is an acceptable form for a Wikipedia article. To assist in writing a proper article, it might help to review the policies on writing from a neutral point of view and how to handle a conflict of interest.

Also, it is important to note that you must provide a reliable source for any material added to the article. Pleas do not insert your own opinions; conversely marketing text is also against policy. Please feel free to leave a message on my talk page if I can help with any questions. Shell babelfish 00:27, 1 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

ICFAI Managment is using wikipedia and advertising platform[edit]

I am following up this page from last few months , and looks like there is some kind of fight between a group of people ( most probably students and ICFAI Management, Management is trying to use Wikipedia as a advertising platform to show case its products , which is against sprite of Wiki, ( Information ).

removing all course details, and adding DEC non approval as part of main topic, because i have conformed from DEC web site, DEC approval is mandatory ( ICFAI has already applied for it) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.75.200.19 (talk) 08:26, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not vandalise[edit]

I had made the editings earlier and would like to make a point that I am in no way presently related to ICFAI or any of its affiliates. Whatever you had written about the DEC is not true. Anyone can check out the link http://www.dec.ac.in/provisional_recognition.htm . Two universities promoted by them is in the list of provisionally approved universities, Tripura and Dehradun. In future please refrain from making changes indiscrimantly, rather use this page so that the changes suggested by you can be incorporated in to the main article.Shovon 10:14, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

Reconfirming that ICFAI Still do not have any approval for Selling Distance learning from DEC[edit]

Status of ICFAI Tripura and Dehradun is they have just applied for approval, which is is process of getting rejected because, they do not follow standerds specified by DEC.

The like given above http://www.dec.ac.in/provisional_recognition.htm do not work most of the time and , so cant trust —Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.75.200.19 (talk) 11:03, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Changes to the Article[edit]

202.75.200.19, from Symantec, IT Park, Aundh Road, Pune, please do not make indiscriminate changes to any article, just because you do not like what is being written. Neither you or me are the permission granting authority for starting Distance Learning Courses, so it is better that we stick to the established facts and information that is available from the regulator in these matters. If you can't belive the information listed on the regulator's site, then that is your problem. And, try to construct coherent, meaningful and grammatically correct sentences. Shovon 19:09, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

MR Shovon , I have enough proofs that ICFAI currently do not have permissions from DEC.

1. I have called to Mr Raj Gopal ( Dean of SSD) of ICFAI to conform, according to him, ICFAI have applied for DEC approval.

2. I have raised a RTI ( Right to Information Act ) application to DEC about status of ICFAI approval, haven't got any response.

3. I have personally met Management Officers of IGNOU ( DEC ) in Pune university about status of ICFAI . the answer I Got from a double Ph.d teacher in his own words " those bastards are using ICFAI Hyd name to sell MBA, they don't even have permission from UGC or DEC, just want to make money @#$@$#@%$#$%&^$ ..... "

4. Mr M.Khan "ICFAI Business Development Manager West India" him self told me that it will take 2+ years to get DEC permission.

( I don't know from where you are, But in India any School or University is treated as temple, and expected to behave as one, and not as Business )

Do you want any other proof or should I give you there phone numbers to conform.

5. If ICFAI have DEC approval why don't they put a copy on there web site ??

For All[edit]

Wikipedia can not be used as a template by organizations to display what all courses are offered. removing all the advertising content, also because there are many legally separate Institutes with name ICFAI, with different permissions for different things, adding a Advise to all Prospective student to do there research and not fall in trap of ICFAI. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Djj78 (talkcontribs) 05:51, 6 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please sign your comments by using for tildas ~. BTW, I have always asked you to first talk about the information in the talk pages. By you don't see any reason. Make one more unreferenced edit, and I will report you for Vandalism. Shovon (talk) 07:38, 6 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rewriting the Article[edit]

For the person working in Symantec, Pune (who has time and again accused me for being an agent of ICFAI), please leave this article as it is for the next couple of days as I am rewriting the whole piece to make it of a higher quality. Till then, please do not make any changes. Come back in a couple of days and see how it is. You are always welcome to take up any matter in my Talk page. Thanks for your cooperation. Shovon (talk) 07:44, 6 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Article maininence[edit]

Please read the tips and advice offered here, Wikipedia:Your first article on how to correctly write and edit articles on Wikipedia, be sure of the spelling and the punctuations you use. Thanks. It will really help the project. I marked this page for cleanup, seeing it does qualify for Wikification of cleanup. Ciao! --♣ẼгíćЏ89♣ (talk) 00:29, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I dont understant why this Platform is being allowed to insult ICFAI[edit]

I have seen the types of edits and add ons being put up here, CFA institute is using this platform to malign ICFAI. I strongly urge Wikipedia to stop such elements.

ICFAI's CFA is AICTE recognized and its universities have got recognition by UGC too and universities which are left behind are in the process.

I strongly urge Wikipedia not to allow Mudslingers to " quote old notices to miss guide people".

I hope my request will be considered. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tutu1234 (talkcontribs) 09:38, 21 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Tutu, there is no malign campaign going on here. Rather your earlier changes clearly showed that you want to advertise Icfai. Regarding your other concerns and requests to Wikipedia, my responses are given below -
  1. I am the user who rewrote the entire article which was in shambles. When rewriting, I wanted to paint a balanced picture of Icfai, its positives as well as negatives.
  2. You can incorporate the fact in the article, if you provide a reference that Icfai's CFA is recognised by the AICTE. As far as my knowledge goes, no institute promoted by Icfai is recognised by AICTE.
  3. And what are the old notices? Whatever you had said about internal policies of the University does not hold any legal or moral water. According to AICTE, an institution has to refund the fees to the students who withdraw from the course. You can see the full text here and a related news story here. Icfai clearly violates this and can go on doing this as they are not recognised by AICTE. Also, if a student decides to drop out of a course, which corporate morality calls for fleecing him/her for the remaining amount?
Anyway, please refrain from making unsubstantiated changes in the article. Thanks. Shovon (talk) 11:25, 21 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure exactly what's going on, but somebody clearly has an ax to grind against CFA Institute. I have cleaned it up some, although the article is still not great. Albertod4 (talk) 03:36, 30 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Dhananjay's portion on Flexible MBA moved to here for the time being[edit]

"Icfai claims that, DEC have provided a provisional recognition to ICFAI University Tripura. DEC allowed provisional recognition to ICFAI university in March 2008. but ICFAI has been selling admissions in MBA courses from year 2001.

also DEC clearly state that for admission in MBA courses a prospective student should have gaduation from any UGC recognized university and student should clear the entrance test.

ICFAI do not take any entrance test, this act of ICFAI is reason enough for DEC to withdraw "provisional recognition".

Following is the content from DEC website,

ADMISSION/SELECTION PROCEDURE
The students of Post Graduate Programme (MBA) be admitted through entrance test.
The written test should assess:
" Reasoning ability
" Comprehension and vocabularies
" General knowledge and
" Quantitative abilities
to check preparedness of a student to undertake management studies. In addition to the above,
it could also examine the students capability to learn through Distance Mode. The short listing of
candidates may be done according to merit prepared on the basis of total profile which may include :
" performance in written test
" work experience
" previous academic records
" performance in group discussion and interview.

To refer this text on DEC Website

1. goto http://www.dec.ac.in/ 2. goto Norms And Standards ( on Left side bar) 3. goto Norms and Standards for Management Programmes

On the same page, there are many restrictions put by DEC which ICFAI clearly misses. This avoidance of DEC rules by ICFAI university are sure to make ICFAI MBA illegal."

The above portion was contributed by User:Djj78. I have moved it to the talk page for the time being because the sentences in the section has some OR and need to be rephrased. I am working on improving the sentence construction and structure of the same as well as providing citations. Thanks. Shovon (talk) 10:18, 2 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Icfai Law School[edit]

Hi Utsav, ILS is a constituent of Icfai University, Dehradun. If you see the article, we are not discussing the individual deptts or schools of each of the universities. Moreover, the para written by you had the following problems - 1. It read like an advertisement, 2. There was definitely a CoI issue, 3. Nothing substantial about the school itself was written. That's why I have removed it. If you can improve on these, you are welcome to put it back. Shovon (talk) 10:24, 2 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
