Additions and changes[edit]

I have re-arranged certain sections to make them more logical in sequence (see Religion) and have tightened certain paragraphs. I have placed more emphasis on the linguistic and cultural background of the original Irish settlers, as this was of basic importance in the formation of Newfoundland culture. The modern diaspora Irish-language movement (found in other parts of North America or in Australia) is exceptionally weak in Newfoundland: this possible merits more investigation.
