Notability[edit]

References about her work as the director of PFFV are definitely from reliable sources in Austria (e.g. major newspapers like Der Standard, Austria's public broadbasting service ORF, FM4). Don't know how Vice Austria is ranked, and magazines like 'Woman'. Will add secondary sources about art exhibits. Interstellarpoliceman (talk) 19:12, 26 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The concern when I flagged the article wasn't that Der Standard (and the like) aren't reliable, but rather that they include very little coverage of Hagendorfer. While it seems like some of Hagendorfer's projects are notable, Hagendorfer herself may not necessarily meet the guidelines. signed, Rosguill talk 23:29, 26 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
For Austrian standards (in the relatively small queer art field) and her being an organizer of a feminist porn film festival (given that many news outlets are not even willing to report about because of conservative bias), I think there is actually quite a lot of coverage, and I think it merits an article specifically about her and her approach. I think her work as artist and queer/feminist organizer is intertwined. Will try to add additional sources, though. All the best! Interstellarpoliceman (talk) 10:58, 27 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
She's primarily known as a curator for exhibits and festivals, and I think her notability can be seen just by looking at Google News. In general: the job of a curator has to be seen seperated from the shows and festivals a curator hosts or manages. Strange assumption that the event is notable and not the curator. Ultimately if we're going to write an article about someone, we need to be able to cite content from reliable sources that is about that person, and the existence of this reliable source content is what notability guidelines attempt to establish. That having been said, Interstellarpoliceman makes good points about the nature of Austrian news publications and I'm optimistic that more content can be found. signed, Rosguill talk 22:23, 27 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, Rosguill. I'm doing some research in our art book/magazine library here at MQ. Adding sources, some are print sources, though. Interstellarpoliceman (talk) 11:15, 28 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I'd say that notability has been demonstrated–you may actually want to consider removing some of the citations to less-reliable sources or to sources that have mostly trivial coverage, as the article is now verging on WP:REFBOMB territory. signed, Rosguill talk 18:28, 28 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, wonderful. No problem. Will remove some of the links to gallery/art show pages. Interstellarpoliceman (talk) 18:54, 28 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
