Jet's involvement on his hit records[edit]

Jet was in a bad way at the time of his hit records to the extent he didn't play on any of them. Big Jim Sullivan was involved in a big way. Reason for Shadows departure?[edit]

I do not believe that the following quote is acceptable for Wikipedia....."In 1962, he left the Shadows following disagreements (documented in The Story of The Shadows, written by the group with Mike Read)". According to his obituaries, his then-wife had an affair with Cliff Richard and he felt he could no longer work with him RGCorris (talk) 14:50, 21 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
That is not the full reason although it contributed ... the affair started him drinking and Harris's descent into alcoholism, its effect on his playing and him failing to turn up at several gigs that finally caused the rift with the Shads ... but it doesn't really need to be paraded in his article; what would that achieve? 21st CENTURY GREENSTUFF 15:03, 21 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I remember that in Bruce’s Rock 'N' Roll - I Gave You the Best Years of My Life, he states that Jet was given the boot because of his drinking. I haven’t a copy to hand, but someone could easily find the exact quote, if it were deemed relevant. Paul Magnussen (talk)

Shadows spoof?[edit]

There wasn't a guitarist in The Beatles capable of "Spoofing" Hank Marvin, and there wasn't a Drummer capable of "Spoofing" Tony Meehan. Who were they "spoofing"- The Shads roadies? Lion King 17:01, 26 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Vox T60[edit]

The Vox T60 (a fairly unreliable transistor amp used by Paul McCartney in the early days) was advertised as being used by Jet Harris, interesting since thereafter Vox advertisements almost entirely focussed on The Beatles. I think it's perhaps worth mentioning if anyone can get more information about how he came by the amp, as this would probably make him not only the first bass guitarist in Britain but the first guitarist of any prominence to play through a transistor amp. 87.80.209.34 (talk) 17:41, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]


Tony Meehan Film Cameo[edit]

...the partnership with Meehan came to an abrupt end in September 1963 when a car crash on the A44 near Evesham, Worcestershire, (in which his girlfriend, singer Billie Davis,[9] was also injured), meant that this success did not last long.
