There must be an error. One can't be Lord Privy Seal between 1470 and 1471, when his lifedate lasts from 1584 to 1656. I defenitely know that he was secretary of exchequers under the rule of Henry VIII of England and Edward VI of England. --Rosa Lux 17:26, 16 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

It's actually quite simple. There are several John Hales, this one isn't the bishop that was Lord Privy. The same odd linkerror is made all over the internet. --Lomedae 22:53, August 17, 2005 (UTC)

Oh dear. On further investigation I have found 3 to 4 John Hales in history, all of them linking to this one bio. I have renamed/relinked all instances of John Hales that should link to another bio. I am confident all links to this John Hales are correct. --Lomedae 23:37, August 17, 2005 (UTC)
