Untitled[edit]

This page referred to Hooker's birthplace, Exeter, as lying in "Alevenshire, now Devonshire". I have removed this because I have never heard of such a former name for Devon, and Google gives no evidence for it other than from a set of genealogical sites which all seem to be linked. I suspect that it is a typo that has been propagated by copying; does anyone have any knowledge or evidence? seglea 00:15, 23 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Redirected[edit]

As this is an alternative name of John Vowell, I've merged the content from there into this article (because it was more developed), and converted the other into a redirect. I won't object if anyone wants to swap the redirect over based on the fact that Vowell was the guy's real name.  —SMALLJIM  17:07, 2 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
