Untitled[edit]

Joseph Justus, mentioned in Acts 1:23, also known as Barsabas, was one of the early disciples of Jesus. He and Matthias were put forth as a possible replacement for Judas, the betrayer of Jesus who committed suicide. A condition for being considered the replacement was having been with Jesus from the beginning of His ministry. The disciples cast lots to determine if Barsabas or Matthias would be the new apostle and Matthias was chosen. Though not chosen as the 13th apostle, his consideration to be such, one of the two finalist speaks loudly about his faith.

Strange[edit]

He gets all three of his names in the New Testament for all history to see, but not a smidgeon of his actual life. How would you like that? Okay, nobody's going to know a single thing about you besides that you lost out on becoming the 13th apostle (oh yeah, and that you followed Jesus, good for you!)... but gosh darn it, they'll for sure know BOTH your nicknames AND your real name, too! I have restored the deleted text that covers this point.--Wetman (talk) 20:59, 10 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ancient Greek??? Ioustos[edit]

Ioustos seems to me to be Latin rather than Greek... Imerologul Valah (talk) 23:54, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
