Question on dates[edit]

How is it that the school was founded in 1990, but as of 1988, the government had no plans to fund it? Boneyard90 (talk) 14:09, 21 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • The free link to the article that 1988 is from is http://articles.philly.com/1988-04-22/news/26254097_1_japanese-school-japanese-student-japanese-education - The school had not yet been established (it was in the planning stages) but at that time the Japanese government had no plans to fund it, hence I wrote "As of 1988" - On page 4 it says "In 1990, the first U.S.-based Japanese high school is scheduled to open in Westchester County, in New York's suburbs. Sponsored by Keio University, one of Japan's most prominent, it will receive no money from the Japanese goverment but will offer many parents an alternative to sending their children all the way home to high school." I see. Perhaps it can be worded slightly different, to avoid confusion. Like, mention that during the "planning stages" in 1988, the government decided not to fund it; then it was established in 1990. Good luck. Boneyard90 (talk) 13:11, 10 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Old website[edit]

Unfortunately http://www.keio.westchester.ny.us/ seems like it never archived. I found the URL here: http://web.archive.org/web/19961219050354/http://www.keio.ac.jp/
