Untitled[edit]

This is my first Wikipedia article. I'm working on this Wikipedia page as a class assignment. I need some help with my citations. For some reason if I use the same source more than once when citing something it creates a new reference for it. Is their a way I can get one reference link to one source, not many reference for one source when I cite? Hopefully, that makes sense and someone could help me improve the page. Thanks in advance for all the help.

Im also looking to add a different picture to the page. I have recieved permission from the owner on Flickr that it is okay to use it. Is this okay or is there more of a process to avoide copyright issues?

Any help provided is greatly appreciated. —Preceding unsigned comment added by DaveP25 (talkcontribs) 15:56, 3 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • I'll also post this on your talk page, since you wrote me directly. To have multiple citations to the same link show up as one link, use a name='example' argument in your ref tag, like so "<ref name='kenblockingsite'>{{cite etc}}</ref>". I did that to two of your references for an example, which you can see here. Of course, use a different name for different references, since having the same name is what makes the reference links not duplicate. As for images, the owner has to be willing to release the image under the GFDL or another free license. They can email the wikimedia foundation with the permission by following the instructions at WP:CONSENT. ⇔ ÆS dt @ 05:29, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • I posted a critique with some thoughts on how to improve the article on your user talk page. All in all, it's a good article, but there are some things you could do to make it even better. ⇔ ÆS dt @ 05:57, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Other notable achievements[edit]

Ken Block the rally driver appears to have a 6 year history (and clearly has been famous for it for a couple of years). However it's apparent that Ken has claims to fame for other than his rallying - not least founding a shoes company and reading between the lines being an up and coming marketing professional. The article could do with a bit more balance between the elements. --198.135.0.233 (talk) 13:16, 2 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This should be be made to be the first result for 'Ken Block'[edit]

I typed in 'Ken Block' into the search box and hit go expecting to be taken to the page for Ken Block founder of DC shoes and famous for a series of hugely successful viral car racing videos and a promising Rally cross racing career.

Instead I was directed to the page for another Ken Block who is a guitarist from a band I have never heard of. I am concerned that the guitarist in the other article has redirected all searches for the rally driver Ken Block to his page in an attempt at self promotion and I am also frustrated that I have to click on a disambiguation page to find an article on the driver, the most famous Ken Block.

There are 2 notices questioning the quality and notability of the article on guitarist Ken Block which I have quoted below

"This article needs references that appear in reliable third-party publications. Primary sources or sources affiliated with the subject are generally not sufficient for a Wikipedia article. Please add more appropriate citations from reliable sources. (June 2009)"

This article may not meet the general notability guideline. Please help to establish notability by adding reliable, secondary sources about the topic. If notability cannot be established, the article is likely to be merged or deleted. (June 2009)

Ken Block the driver and DC shoes founder has been featured in many popular national and global TV shows including Stunt Junkies of the Discovery Channel in a video known as 'Gymkhana' and filmed for Top Gear, and in a video titled Snow Park for Snowboarder Magazine and is also the founder of a major urban fashion company.

In conclusion I am requesting that either this article for Ken Block the driver is made to be the first page opened upon a search for the name Ken Block and the page for the driver accessible via a disambiguation page.

American Rally Association (ARA) Championship Results[edit]

Ken competed 2016-2022 in the ARA championship, being roughly the same series as Rally America after RA was abandoned by the sport in favor of the ARA governing body.

Oliver Solberg Gymkhana 10[edit]

In the Explanatory Notes section, Oliver Solberg drove a Ford Focus RS RX in Gymkhana 10, not a Ford Fiesta WRC. This needs correcting. 2A00:23EE:1211:5916:E00B:9472:DB34:992E (talk) 05:40, 15 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
