Needs the Kreator logo over the box description. pinkkeith May 24, 2006 The logo needs a fix, and a invisible background--Neo139 19:51, 28 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Moved the comment about playing in Morocco to a separate section under Trivia. Have not checked this fact and have no idea what year it was as the original did not say. 193.238.233.2 14:45, 11 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

GA nomination October 30, 2007[edit]

I believe that this article could fit as a good article. If not, I would like to hear about ways to improve upon it to make it so.--Pinkkeith 16:35, 30 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, i noticed you nominated the article Kreator for GA. Unfortunately i believe it will not pass for several reasons. I have already removed the trivia section and re-arranged sections appropriately. *First of you should split the biography into sections for each album as done in Slayer and Megadeth.

  • Do not link years by themselves such as 1982, should be just 1982
  • It was praised by fans and critics alike. What critics? who do they work for? (all Music Guide, Rollingstone etc) what did they say about the album? the statement needs context.
  • The writing is poor in sections and almost every line starts off with something completely non-related to the previous, an example:
Kreator formed as Tyrant in 1982 in Essen, Germany(how did they meet each other?). The original lineup featured vocalist/guitarist Mille Petrozza, drummer Jurgen 'Ventor' Reil, and bassist Rob Fioretti. They soon changed their name to Tormentor(why?) and released two demos(any names?). They changed the name of the band again to the final one, Kreator(Why? does Kreator have a specific meaning or did it sound cool?) and signed to Noise Records in 1985 and recorded their debut album, Endless Pain, in just 10 days.(This sentence drags on and can be split in two) Legions of black and death metal bands(Some examples of bands and references are needed) call it one of their major influences.[4] The band hired the late Sodom guitarist Michael Wulf(Word it like he was alive at the time) for the albums tour.(album's refers to a single album, albums means more than one)
Every sentence starts with a completely new topic and needs to 'flow' better and not jump subject each sentence.
  • Remove the red links from the references. M3tal H3ad 11:13, 31 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'd recommend sending it to peer review and adding a link to it on the HMM Project peer review page. LuciferMorgan 23:13, 31 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

GA Review[edit]

After looking over the article, I've failed the article's GA nomination for a number of reasons. Many of the problems with the article have already been pointed out above by MetalHead and LuciferMorgan, but I'll reiterate the important ones. The main problem is a lack of breadth. The article only gives a basic history of the band. Ideally, the article should also include things like style, legacy, controversies, receptions, live performances, etc, depending on whatever seems most applicable to the band. Just take a look at other music-related articles for some good examples. Second, the writing is poor at times. I would highly recommend asking for a peer review, or asking someone you trust to help with a thorough copy edit. The logo at the top of the article also needs a fair use rationale, since it is a copyrighted logo. Finally, formatting is an issue is well. The citations are poorly formatted, and don't get full attribution where necessary. I would also recommend reformatting the history section into logical, chronological sub-sections. Also any album/ep/DVD release titles should be italicized.

Overall, it is a very good start, but it does seem as if there's a fair amount of work to be done to get the article to GA-quality. If you have any questions or concerns concerning the review or anything else, feel free to drop me a line on my Talk page. Drewcifer 06:21, 16 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Is Kreator satanic? U kno, like Mayhem & Bathory? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.93.243.94 (talk) 15:45, 16 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Bathory were never truly "Satanic", anyone who has read interviews with Quorthon in the later stages of his life will know that. Neither did Kreator ever seriously contemplate Satanism, although in the artworks and lyrics of the earlier albums, the band did use a certain amount of purportedly Satanic imagery. They did so, however, because it was generally considered "cool" to give metal in general a Satanic image, although hardly any of the bands in that time adhered to Satanism (Mercyful Fate perhaps being a notable example). Lead Guitar vs. Rhythm Guitar[edit]

Hey editors and users, I want to remark that the division between lead and rhythm guitar doesn't make much sense. At least for the current line.up where Sami plays more solos then Mille. I don't know whether Mille was the regular lead guitarist in earlier incarnations, but certainly not when Vetterli was in the band. I suggest going for "guitar" in all cases.
