Hey again, Jo-Jo Eumerus. Here is my question thread for this copy edit request:

In The lake, it seems like you are trying to say more than just "Death Valley is in California" since there is a reference, but I'm not sure what that is. Can you please expand on what you are trying to say here: Death Valley in turn lies in southeastern California. ? Or can this sentence be safely removed since the next talks about Death Valley being in CA? — Preceding unsigned comment added by gwendy (talk • contribs)

I'm confused about the tense in this sentence in the Inflow section. The rest of the paragraph is in past tense and then this last one is present tense. The integration of the Mojave River into Death Valley is almost complete; once the basin of Lake Mojave has been filled completely to the altitude of its own spillway even under current conditions its waters will reach Death Valley. @Gwendy: The tense is deliberate; currently (late Holocene, 2017 AD) the Mojave River needs to fill the last vestiges of Lake Mojave before it can overflow.   • Combine first and second sentences as they are a bit repetitive as is...why not, "Lake Manly was a pluvial lake in Death Valley, California, covering a surface area of 1,600 square kilometres (620 sq mi) during the so-called "Blackwelder stand"." - also link "Blackwelder stand" here.

How about something like, "Lake Manly and other lake systems in the Great Basin formed by a process of decreasing temperatures and thus decreasing evaporation as well as increased precipitation during the ice ages." or something similar....

Explained a little more, using a rewording as the literal source text clast assemblages and facies within the 14–6 Ma Artists Drive Formation that are consistent with a northwest-to-southeast–flowing fluvial system during the late Miocene. is probably too technical. Mis-conversion of temperature difference[edit]

I haven't done any editing of Wikipedia, and I don't know the process for making a correction. So, I'll just describe it here, and someone (if agreed) can either fix it, or tell me how.

In the climate section, there's a statement "...a temperature drop of about 10 °C (50 °F)...". Since that's a temperature difference, not an exact temperature, it should not have 32 added in the conversion. The correct temperature drop is 18 degrees Fahrenheit.

English Spelling[edit]

I'm sorry if I'm using bad grammar because I'm not an English native speaker. But I see a lot of non-American English in this article (even an American-related article). For example, using "kilometre" rather than "kilometer", etc. Also, this article favors metric units over U.S. customary units (the U.S. favors U.S. customary units).
