Fair use rationale for Image:Dqix.jpg[edit]

Image:Dqix.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

ROID[edit]

Anyone have any idea what this is?

“BASED OUT OF”[edit]

I just had to change the phrase “based out of” back to the original, correct phrase “based in.” “Based out of,” if it could mean anything, would most closely mean “based outside of,” meaning the base is not in that location. The relevant definition and usage, from the American Heritage Dictionary, are: To form or provide a base for: based the new company in Portland. No option to use the phrase “based out of” is provided in any (reputable, at least) dictionary. See this page: http://eyeblister.blogspot.com/2008/12/based-out-of.html for commentary. Please leave the correct phrase.

Level-5Level-5 (Japanese company) – The hyphen is indistinct, the corporate logo does not seem to use a hyphen at all. There are many other Level 5 's out there. [1] According to Google, this does not seem to be the most likely nor dominant nor particularly common topic. The current title should redirect to the disambiguation page. -- 67.70.35.44 (talk) 10:10, 3 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Reversions at Level-5[edit]

I have been attempting to redirect Level-5 to the disambiguation page at Level 5 per the discussion here, but have been reverted twice now (and will not break 3RR). Please help keep an eye on the redirect. Dekimasuよ! 03:00, 11 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Dekimasu: I've begun to replace all the disambugition links on Level-5 related articles, but I'm sure there is a bot that could do this automatically? Level-5 (with hyphen) wikilinks would be 99%, if not 100% referring to the game company. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 04:13, 11 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Version release dates and regional availability for Inazuma Eleven games[edit]

I edited in specifications regarding the DS and 3DS versions of Inazuma Eleven games and their release dates in Japan. It was unofficially undone. However, the table in its current form doesn't show the right release date of the 3DS versions, so when the table is sorted on release date, false info will be shown. The same goes for regional availability as the regional availability differs per version for Inazuma Eleven 1, 2, and 3. A solution to this problem is either my first solution (which was undone) or separating DS and 3DS versions of all three games and put them where they belong chronologically in the table. I think the table can be improved and should be improved. Just which way do we want it?
Small edit: the way I handled the differences is in line with how it's done later on in the table with the 3DS and mobile versions of Yo-kai Watch, for example.
-- TheLegendaryN (talk) 20:33, 3 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • If it's just a port, do we need to change anything? The way you did it really needs the table itself edited to support different release regions, so it would look something like the List of Nintendo Switch games article. And while I don't have an issue if you or somebody else did this, I personally don't think we need to have every single release date included here, as all of that info is belongs in the specific game's article instead. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 20:55, 3 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
No, the release dates I noted are the Japanese release dates. And I divided the Yes/No options per platform, because regional availability is different. I never intended to show any overseas release dates in the table. (On December 27, 2012 a collection of the three DS games released in Japan on 3DS, which was later partly localised and released in overseas territories. So the date in the table is a Japanese one.) The difference between the Japanese dates of the DS and 3DS versions is several years. That's why I changed it. I hope you understand what I mean.

Add NnK remastered[edit]

Only the original PS3 release is on the list of games. The remastered releases should be included.

Level 5 Abby didn't shut down?[edit]

It's just sensationalist BS based on a lack of news, a lack of news isn't news. The evidence lies in the fact that https://www.level5abby.com/ is still there, as is https://www.yo-kai-world.com/ . If they had shut down, why are they still there? Also there's this: https://businesssearch.sos.ca.gov/CBS/SearchResults?filing=&SearchType=CORP&SearchCriteria=LEVEL-5+abby+Inc.&SearchSubType=Keyword Mattwo7 (talk) 23:45, 23 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

It may still be in the process of fully shutting down. Just because their URL is still active somehow means the announcement was fake? ~ Dissident93 (talk) 09:51, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
How is sensationalist media trying to pass a lack of news as actual news an announcement? As I also linked above, they're still registered as a business in the state of California, it's not just the websites still being up, ALL the evidence points to the company still being there. Also according to the Gameindustry.biz article, the whole thing goes back to July or August of last year, how long could it possibly even take? Mattwo7 (talk) 14:25, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I should probably clarify that it could be in a similar situation to Prope right now. Mattwo7 (talk) 01:01, 29 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have any examples of one that also uses the (company) disambiguation? ~ Dissident93 (talk) 21:04, 23 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    Yes, loads of them. -- Necrothesp (talk) 09:25, 24 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
That contradicts what is stated at the Wikipedia guideline WP:NCCORP, where it says that the legal status can and should be used to disambiguate companies. If you believe it shouldn't, you should not use individual discussions as a battleground and instead contest the policy itself. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 22:45, 26 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The vast majority of companies are in practice disambiguated using "company". So there is in fact no battleground involved except the one you are creating by arguing against clear consensus and consistency. I think you should also reread the sentence you are citing: When disambiguation is needed, the legal status, an appended "(company)", or other suffix can be used to disambiguate (for example, Oracle Corporation, Borders Group, Be Inc., and Kashi (company)). So where precisely do you get "the legal status can and should [italics mine] be used to disambiguate companies" from? There's no "should" about it! The guideline mandates either. However, as I have stated (and is proved by any look at appropriate categories and related RMs), overwhelmingly common practice is to use the parenthetical disambiguator. -- Necrothesp (talk) 08:58, 27 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I still don't see why WP:NATDIS wouldn't apply here. Your quoted passage puts the legal name on the same level as "(company)". ~ Dissident93 (talk) 10:32, 27 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed, but clear evidence is that consensus is that "(company)" is preferred. And the guideline certainly does not say that legal status is preferred, as Zxcvbnm claimed. WP:NATDIS doesn't trump everything. That's why we don't use middle names to disambiguate people. Again, because consensus is that we shouldn't. -- Necrothesp (talk) 14:25, 27 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
