File:BigSouthChampions.JPG Nominated for speedy Deletion[edit]

An image used in this article, File:BigSouthChampions.JPG, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Other speedy deletions
What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request

To take part in any discussion, or to review a more detailed deletion rationale please visit the relevant image page (File:BigSouthChampions.JPG)

Debate Team?[edit]

Jeez! Edit warring over a debate team? As per my edit summary, removing the contentious section, I don't think debate is a college sport/athletic event. The article is fine without such nonsense. – S. Rich (talk) 07:10, 5 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Question: does the debate team go by the moniker "Liberty Flames"? Because if it does, then a section is perfectly appropriate. That said, what is not appropriate is introducing John Lofton's sectarian religious sniping. This article should be a simple description of LU's inter-collegiate competitive efforts, and nothing more. Roccodrift (talk) 07:16, 5 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps they do go by the moniker, but what athletic conference (etc.) is the debate team in? This debate team stuff is simply off-topic. We cannot shoehorn "inter-collegiate efforts" into an article about the sports team/competitions. Normally I would not care in the slightest, but WP suffers when edit warring and bickering stems from battleground issues like whether abortion should be debated. – S. Rich (talk) 07:30, 5 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Please note, I am aware that an RfC is ongoing as to Liberty U, but that is an issue for that article. – S. Rich (talk) 07:36, 5 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

To what exactly does "Footnote 1" section mean? Why is there a reference to the school colors in the Infobox that doesn't seem to have anything to do with the school colors? Has a bot created these oddities? Should there be a brief description of the Lady Flames softball program, as there is with all the other sports? Should there be a separate article for men's and women's track and field, and cross country? These two programs have been unusually successful. Activist (talk) 09:00, 18 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
