These pages are not platforms for political discussion. Issues relating to Cornish politics should be restricted to those pages that directly deal with these issues (such as Constitutional status of Cornwall, Cornish nationalism, etc) and should not overflow into other articles.

I respectfully draw the attention of other editors to this:

The use of Citation templates is not required by WP:CITE and is neither encouraged nor discouraged by any other Wikipedia citation guidelines. They may be used at the discretion of individual editors, subject to agreement with the other editors on the article. Some editors find them helpful, while other editors find them annoying, particularly when used inline in the text. Because they are optional, editors should not change articles from one style to the other without consensus.

I am not sure what point you are trying to make here. When I first found the article in December 2010, there were no references at all. I expanded it considerably, and made sure that all of it was referenced, using the harvard style which is used for most of the British canal articles. Subsequently, you have expanded it further, but have either used refs where you have quoted the whole work inline, refs which do not give the page number, or whole paragraphs with no refs. To achieve good article status, the facts need to be supported by reliable references, and the style needs to be consistent. I am always working towards good articles. Why would anyone not want to? Having read WP:CITE it says:

"Wikipedia's Verifiability policy requires inline citations for any material challenged or likely to be challenged, and for all quotations, anywhere in article space. However, editors are advised to provide citations for all material added to Wikipedia; any unsourced material risks being unexpectedly challenged or eventually removed."

Assessment[edit]

I have assessed the article against the criteria for B-class.

Suitably referenced, with inline citations
Reasonable coverage - no obvious omissions or inaccuracies
Defined structure, with adequate lead
Reasonably well written for grammar and flow
Supporting materials - Infobox, map, images
Appropriately understandable

Production of lime[edit]

I have reduced the figures in the statement:

Approaching 100 tonnes (110 short tons) of limestone were required per acre annually (about 250 tonnes per hectare), so that its transport was a considerable undertaking.

by a factor of 10. As note 1 says, 14.5 tons of limestone made 100 bushels of lime (each of 150 lbs). 15,000 lbs is around 6.7 tons (1 ton = 2,240 lbs). So 10 tons of limestone would be needed for 4.6 tons of lime, which is between the 4 to 5 tons mentioned by Messenger. Bob1960evens (talk) 15:46, 15 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
