work to do[edit]

some failed banks list just 'FDIC' as their replacement; these need to have their replacement bank listed. Also various banks just point to the FDIC web site as reference; they need to show the press release from FDIC closing that specific bank. Hmains (talk) 20:33, 22 August 2009 (UTC) SOME BANKS ARE NOT ACQUIRED BY OTHER BANKS, FDIC OPERATES THE BANK FOR A SHORT TIME TO WRAP UP ITS ASSETS AND LIABILITIES, AND PAYS THE INSURED DEPOSITORS. REFERENCING THE INDIVIDUAL PRESS RELEASES IS OVERKILL. FDIC HAS NOW ISSUED YEAR-END SUMMARIES WITH LINKS TO THE INDIVIDUAL PRESS RELEASES FOR EACH PAST YEAR, AND REFERENCE TO THOSE IS ADEQUATE Tloc (talk) 22:55, 22 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Wachovia?[edit]

Why is Wachovia not on this list? It was acquired by Wells Fargo a few months ago... --172.130.242.138 (talk) 01:27, 28 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, Wachovia was sold to Wells Fargo in Dec 2008. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 167.24.104.150 (talk) 19:47, 24 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

failure to maintain article; no apparent interest; too much work[edit]

in section 'Banks bankrupt, filed for bankruptcy protection, or closed and received by the FDIC' there is a table for 2009. No one has maintained this table since Sept 2009 even though there are more banks closed down by the FDIC every Friday in the US. Is there any reason to continue to keep the 2009 table (and the 2007 and 2008 table for that matter) in this section or should the table(s) be deleted here and just leave a pointer to the FDIC web site where a complete list can be found? DUPLICATIVE LISTING[edit]

THIS PAGE APPEARS TO BE DUPLICATIVE OF List of bank failures in the United States (2008–present) WHICH CONTAINS MORE INFORMATION AND FEWER X-REFERENCES. THE PAGES SHOULD BE COMBINED. Tloc (talk) 22:55, 22 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
