Hi Manzzzz. Unfortunately, the article you have suggested does not meet the Wikipedia:Notability requirements. This article was recommended for deletion and just about made it. I don't think your suggestion will do the same. Hope you enjoy editing wikipedia. GiggsIsLegend (talk) 21:25, 22 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Clash of Clans[edit]

Shouldn't Clash of Clans be mentioned on this page? 118.210.21.37 (talk) 13:35, 18 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Clash of Clans does not have over 100 million downloads on the Android platform, but some number between 50-100 million. Frmorrison (talk) 16:20, 29 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion request[edit]

The content violates the guidelines under Wikipedia:Verifiability. It's completely based on original research.

  • All entries have been manually selected. There is no guarantee that there aren't more or even more successful apps. Google itself doesn't have alltime toplists, new entries have to be found and evaluated manually. Chance is high, that this list is incomplete and can't be corrected. At this point, correctness of this list is depending on coincidence, not on reliable sources.
  • On top of that, it totally neglects the fact that there is more than one App Store for Android (e.g. Amazon Appstore, GALAXY Apps or F-Droid).
  • Neither this list nor Google provide detailed information that could allow a more or less precise ranking. Google only offers a range of download numbers for each app, like 1 to 5 billion (GMail). Possible variance is very high (up to 5x).
  • The criteria of 100 million downloads seems an arbitrary selection. GMail for example has at least ten times as much downloads.
  • It's very unlikely, that with 1 billion Android phones on the market (Sept. 2013), all these phones have downloaded Gmail once again. Thus, Google is counting installations, including preinstalled apps, not downloads. -- 89.14.24.193 (talk) 11:03, 29 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • The data is based on just one website claim, which says has gathered about 200,000 apps information. There are more than 2.6 million apps on google play. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Saeedcpo (talkcontribs) 13:32, 24 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Consensus says it is a kept article, however the name was changed from "Most popular Android apps by number of downloads" to "List of most downloaded Android applications". That something will require frequent updating is not a reason for deletion. Here is your media coverage[1][2][3][4][5][6] Frmorrison (talk) 19:47, 21 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Clash of clans + Jetpack Joyride[edit]

Clash of clans and Jetpack Joyride also have over 100 Million downloads. Can anyone add it to the list? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.64.252.166 (talk) 07:54, 20 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I added them and few others apps missing. Note the beginning of the list says "This is the majority of the Google Play free apps" so the list will never be complete. --Frmorrison (talk) 14:38, 20 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Chart[edit]

I was thinking, why don't we make a chart? A ranked chart consisting of about 25 - 50 that actually shows howhat many downloads the app has? I would happily work on getting the information. P.S - I have worked on previous charts such as the "List of Highest grossing films" and "Most viewed YouTube videos" Editor49 (talk) 17:01, 16 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Needs Improvement[edit]

  • (this content was removed from the actual article and moved to this more appropriate location) -- Begoon 01:59, 15 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

This article needs improvement in several areas. Please fix those, and then after successfully completing the task, delete the point.

  1. The contents of "Free applications with over five billion downloads", and all the tables of "Paid" have to be aligned to the centre of the cell.
  2. In the contents of "Paid applications with over one million and fewer than five million downloads", all the apps have to be cited to their respective Play Store link.
  3. The "Pre-Installed" column in the "Free" section of each table needs to be verified (and if possible), cited to some source.
  4. Linking the apps and their developers to many of the apps in the "Paid" section. (do not link it if it does not exist).
  5. Removing the title and keeping the link as it is in the "Free applications with over one billion and fewer than five billion downloads" and "Free applications with over 500 million and fewer than one billion downloads" tables for references.
  6. Please add any content to the "Free" and "Paid" sections before the table lists.
  7. Please add more images and information to this article, to make it look better.
  8. Improving the article by editing all other accessories.

The Wikipedia team would be very grateful to those who help to fix these and make this article better for more people to see. Thanks a lot, Wikipedian! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Justlookingforthemoment (talkcontribs) 07:45, 12 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
