Removed PROD tag 20JUL12[edit]

I believe this artice is necessary for the following reasons:

  • (1) Editor undersigned finds it necessary to move list content from Sussex County, New Jersey's Education section and created this article for said purpose.
  • (2) Per WP:LIST, WP:LISTPURP, WP:CLN, "redundancy of lists and categories is beneficial..." the prod-proposing editor's rationale is unwarranted and contrary to WP's guidelines.
  • (3) You mentioned that In addition, no other counties in NJ have their own page for listings of schools and school districts. It's too time consuming and redundant if we have categories for them.
  • (3a)Perhaps each county should have one. It's a logical fallacy to claim "because X, Y and Z don't have it, therefore, W shouldn't either." Even though nothing prevents, precludes or prescribes W, X, Y, and Z from having such lists.
  • (3b) It's far more time consuming to search for 25 separate articles than if they were located in one place.
  • (3c) Per above policies, redundancy is encouraged. Therefore, policy implies a need for having the category and list co-exist.
  • (3d) There are countless examples of redundant categories and lists and other tools co-existing. Are you going to prod-tag all these countless examples too?
  • (4) This is more than a list, table condenses information in one more efficient location (article) rather than force an interested reader to sort through 25 other pages.
  • (5) More readers are likely to click on this list when linked on Sussex County, New Jersey and related articles rather than hunt for the category where these schools can be found.
  • (6) Editor undersigned removed prod tag in accordance with objection in WP:CONTESTED.

It would be adviseable to reach out to another editor involved in an article to discuss your concerns before acting unilaterally. Communication is necessary and desirable.--ColonelHenry (talk) 02:23, 21 July 2012 (UTC) (revised --ColonelHenry (talk) 02:37, 21 July 2012 (UTC))[reply]

Article issues[edit]

When this first article was first created I was also about to hit it with a prod tag, but I think that the content here is becoming sufficiently meaningful and well-organized to justify standalone status. I'm not sure why the enrollment data is from 2008-09, as more current data is available either from the National Center for Education Statistics or from the New Jersey Department of Education. By far the biggest issue is the complete lack of sources. The only reference is an unsourced statement and all details about sending communities, enrollment, founding dates, etc. is completely unsourced, an issue that must be addressed immediately. The 2008-2009 data was compiled by taking an hour going through all the school district pages. I agree it should be updated. Will be addressed shortly, will you join in helping?--ColonelHenry (talk) 19:45, 23 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
