Territorial purchases Wikipedia article: Should the French purchase of Corsica from Genoa be included?[edit]

In this specific Wikipedia article, should the 1768 purchase of Corsica by France from Genoa be included here? What do you personally think? Futurist110 (talk) 07:48, 14 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I think so, yes. However, I can't find a good source for how much it cost France. fr.wikipedia says £200000 per year for ten years but that statement is uncited. Need to track down a good source for it. //Lollipoplollipoplollipop::talk 16:57, 14 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not entirely sure. Corsica was ceded to repay Genoa's debts to France. Perhaps if you were able to find a source on the amount that Genoa owed France, you wouldn't have an exact amount. As well, France gave Capraia to Genoa, so it could be seen as a territory exchange with no money being actually exchanged. ChaseLerew (talk) 17:24, 29 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Nominal Cost vs Inflation Adjusted Cost[edit]

The table has no information about whether or not the cost is nominal or inflation adjusted. I think there should be a clarification, and ideally a separate column for each one. ToasterLightning (talk) 05:25, 24 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
