WWII and Girl Officers[edit]

The Girl Officers were a unique sociological phenomenon - popular as cheerleaders yet structured in a military manner. Being chosen was a high honor meriting mention in the local paper - the Sun. Selections would also be broadcast over the local radio station - WCAP. When they graduated, they moved into an Alumnane society. To this day obituaries will refer to membership as a Girl officer.

  - I remember hearing about this rating, but I can't remember where I read it. I'd like to say it was a newsmagazine like Newsweek or something. I'll see if I can find it.
according to the school's website, US news and world report ranked it as an "outstanding urban high school" in 1999. Should I still try to find a direct link to the article? or is this sufficient? Caligi 19:35, 2 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
