Name[edit]

Removed the CorenSearchBot tag from article. It appeared because I took the content from /Luna_mortis and moved it to /Luna_Mortis. I then redirected to old /Luna_mortis page to this one. This was done to correct the capitalization error in "mortis," as it should be a capital M. 16:04, 6 October 2008 User:Zarathustra323

Notability[edit]

Before this page gets deleted let me say this: They are signed to Century Media and are recording their depute album..so don't delete it mmk? I'm working on it. Zaruyache (talk) 23:35, 20 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, some editors may think that the band isn't notable since they currently have only released one album on an indie label. However, this band seems like it still meets at least one other criteria for inclusion into Wikipedia under WP:MUSIC#Criteria for musicians and ensembles. The band has gotten a fair amount of attention from third party sources. --Nova Weaver (talk) 21:49, 15 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Genre[edit]

Why does this keep getting removed? Their style is really in the same vein as Into Eternity and Opeth. I agree that they are a melodic death metal band, but they aren't a melodeath band. There isn't enough deathgrowling to make death metal an actual genre here, since they switch between deathgrowling and clean singing, a la Into Eternity. The melodies come purely from their power metal influences, not from the death metal influences. Unless there is melody and deathgrowling going on a or near the same times, it's not melodic death metal; it's power metal. 71.162.47.115 (talk) —Preceding undated comment was added at 20:05, 15 February 2009 (UTC).[reply]

It keeps getting removed because there is no reliable source attached to the claim that the band plays progressive death metal. Wikipedia has policies believe it or not. WP:V and WP:NOR are the two policies relevant to this discussion. Basically, WP:NOR states that Wikipedia is not the place for you to publish your own opinions, no matter how right you think you are and then WP:V explicitly states that "Editors should provide a reliable source for quotations and for any material that is challenged or likely to be challenged, or the material may be removed." So ultimately, you may add progressive death metal to the article, but only if you can find reliable sources supporting that claim. --Nova Weaver (talk) 21:49, 15 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Honestly... they really arent death metal (even melodeath) ... They are mostly power metal but infuse progressive/thrash/gutenberg style riffs into their music along with the occasional death growls (which is what I imagine the source means when it calls them melodic death metal)... It just seems misleading to call them melodic death metal, particularly as the first genre... I mean, would you really group this band with Scar Symmetry and Children of Bodom ... or are they closer to Kiuas and 3 Inches of Blood ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dims25 (talkcontribs) 09:47, 5 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
