Would be nice to have a simple program in MIX! Perhaps one that generates the Fibonacci sequence or tests for primes? Sdedeo (tips) 03:25, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's not clear that Knuth invented it...[edit]

It would be nice to unambiguously state that Knuth invented the MIX (or that he did not, in which case we should reference who did). Anyone know? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pkrecker (talkcontribs) 20:44, 14 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If he didn't invent it, he would surely have said so in AoCP vol 1. More mystifying is, why did he invent it? Is it a joke? 31.48.245.110 (talk) 13:38, 16 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Character codes and booting programs[edit]

Possibly should mentioning the character codes and booting programs? A description can also be found at [1]. Knuth's bootloader programs uses two cards, but here is my own MIX bootloader on one card:

 N O6 A O4 H N ENX E K BU I OALH A. PAEN D LB E AEU ABG G 9

MIXMIX (abstract machine) – (or other dab modifiers) (and redirect MIX to Mix dab) Not the primary topic for this trigram; even limited to just capitalized topics, doesn't clear pageviews, and isn't prominent in search results. Hameltion (talk | contribs) 00:39, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
