Renaming the article[edit]

I suggest the article to be renamed "MV Monchegorsk (1983)", the reasoning being that:

  • most merchant ship articles have the prefix in their names (and use defaultsort for sorting in category listings); and
  • there exist another Monchegorsk, a new double acting ship that replaced the old SA-15 class ship in 2008 and became famous last year when it traversed the Northern Sea Route without icebreaker escort — someone might want to write an article about it one day.

I'm currently working on an article about the SA-15 class ships (hence the red links in the Monchegorsk article) and once I finish that, I'll rewrite this article as well to match the data there and to bring it up to the Wikipedia standards. I can do the renamings etc. when I get to that point. Also, before yesterday there were no links pointing to this article (I made one to the list of ship launches in 1983 and there will be another in the new article), so that shouldn't be a problem. I'm quite sure this section is not read often, but I'll wait at least until I've finished the other article before making any changes here. If no-one objects, I'll do the necessary changes when I have time. Tupsumato (talk) 05:53, 3 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm, I forgot I had suggested this. Well, I did rename it after all as no-one had anything against it. I might add the year later if I write an article of the new Monchegorsk. Tupsumato (talk) 09:24, 15 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
