Can someone please add something about the hate crimes this man faced ? I think it's an important thing to present a fuller picture.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Thebutterfly (talkcontribs) .

I was there when he built a masjid and they burnt down his house so i will edit it later —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 217.86.18.45 (talkcontribs) .

Gulfport, India is obviously flat out ridiculous! It's Gulfport, Mississippi folks! Pls fix. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.50.123.71 (talk) 12:40, 25 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Why is Abdul-Rauf's career at LSU described in the article as "record setting"? He led the team and the SEC in scoring a couple of seasons in a row, but didn't begin to approach Pete Maravich's LSU scoring records. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.4.33.19 (talk) 16:06, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Same-sex Marriage Opposition Tag[edit]

Citation please? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by T. Wong (talkcontribs) .

The edit summary of the addition was: 132.241.245.245 (Talk) (He is a Imam) Whatever that means in relation to same-sex marriage, I don't know. Sandy 22:21, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The "Category:Same-sex_marriage_opposition" page is has people who have publically opposed same-sex marriage. I can find no record of Mahmoud's public statements. Additionally, the IP in question is a public one with several vandalism complaints on its talk page. I'm deleteing the categorization now.--T. Wong 11:45, 13 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'll watch the article, and remind editors that additions should be backed by a primary reference. Sandy 12:08, 13 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

He has or had OCD, does anyone have info on this, it would be worth while to put in.

I haven't heard this, but many people with Tourette Syndrome also have OCD and/or have close relatives with OCD, so researchers strongly suspect that both disorders have the same genetic cause. Bostoner (talk) 22:25, 15 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I just heard Abdul-Rauf say, on a television documentary, that the NBA black-balled him. Does anyone know why he was shipped to different teams and sat the bench, while still the most prolific guard (points per minute)in the league? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Awainacht (talkcontribs) 01:16, 7 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

He was black-balled for marketing reasons. Abdul-Rauf made a lot of people upset with his refusal to stand for the National Anthem - an unforgiveable act for many people. Despite his compromise, he became a controversial figure. Obviously, the NBA, by pressuring him into a compromise, was not comfortable with supporting his stance of refusing to stand. Rag-time4 (talk) 03:55, 1 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
And rightfully so, for being the hypocrite he is. 97.76.251.91 (talk) 02:03, 26 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
He was also rejected as spokesman for the Tourette Syndrome Association for being too controversial, which thereafter rarely mentioned him. Bostoner (talk) 22:25, 15 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed merge[edit]

Propose that By the Dawn's Early Light: Chris Jackson's Journey to Islam be merged into this page. It is unsourced, Another editor recently tagged it for notability and sourcing, and I tried to source it. Director of this indy documentary is not notable. Perhaps she may be at some point, she is a young narrative anthropologist at Yale which explains a recent screening of this film at Yale (covered in the college paper), possibly explaining why the article was created now, for a 2004 film. I ran a proquest news archive search, and came up with only a single mention in an events listing section. Just not seeing enough to support an article, although the fact that someone made a film seems worth WP:PRESERVEing.20:08, 6 December 2016 (UTC)E.M.Gregory (talk)

@E.M.Gregory: I'd say a strong no at this point. The By The Dawn's[...] article has several issues itself: it has no sources and it is unclear if it meets WP:NOTABILITY criteria. These things have to be resolved before any merger discussion begins. At first glance I'd say that the film is not notable, but a sentence about it could be in the article about Abdul-Rauf. Hansi667 (Neighbor Of The Beast) a penny for your thoughts? 19:55, 29 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • I've tried, but I can't confidently source a sentence. All I can find is a 2005 events listing in a Carolina paper, and a slightly longer 2016 announcement of a screening in the Yale Daily News where the filmmaker has now been appointed assistant professor of American Studies. The film exists, but there is no notability. Think I'll PROD it instead.E.M.Gregory (talk) 20:33, 29 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Chris Jackson[edit]

After years in the ministry I am aware of the reason for his "tick" Demons don't have horns and make you spit pea soup. Demons are what many may like about you. They are dark spiritual personalities that look for an inroad to a body. This is what happened to Chris. 97.114.176.109 (talk) 06:06, 4 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
