Thanks for the help[edit]

Thanks to Lima (talk · contribs), for cleaning this up. I started an article (years ago) because I was trying to figure out what the term meant, but what I was able to find out and cite from online sources was pretty sketchy. And you are right that the wording "the role of God and the person receiving communion in putting Christ's presence into the bread and wine" doesn't describe the situation - I was trying to somehow explain what the connection to real presence is, but not succeeding very well.

I'm also fine with merging this into a larger article, because I'm not sure the subject really stands on its own very well, but I'm not sure which larger article it would fit into. Kingdon (talk) 21:43, 17 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Is this view really held by Philipp Melanchton? I don't think so! Wolf-Dieter Hauschild Lehrbuch der Kirchen- und Dogmengeschichte Band 2, Güttersloh: Kaiser, 2005 (3rd edition)page 324 says about Melanchton: "der manducatio impiorum lehnt er ebenso ab wie die römische Transsubstantiations- und Opferlehre (Cf.
