GA Review[edit]

As promised, I'm here to complete this article's review for GA. Overall it is in great shape; well written, correctly formatted, adequately referenced with reliable sources, neutral, stable, and the images are correctly tagged. I have a few suggestions mainly regarding the prose and vagueness in the lead, but other than that I'm satisfied:

She became the first editor of the Transcendental publication The Dial before joining the staff of the New York Tribune under Horace Greeley: what's the time frame here?

soon became involved with a revolution in Italy: what does "became involved" entail? Also, what revolution? Just a few words of explanation would help.

I'm still working this one out so I'm not sure how much more specific I can get. I added Giuseppe Mazzini's name so that might ring a few bells for readers. While she had been in Groton, Timothy Fuller decided not to run for re-election... While she was in Groton? Also, this sentence makes it sound as if her father decided not to run for re-election as a direct result of her being in school. Could the reason be made more apparent early on?

though she was never wholly successful: Who does the "she" refer to? Fuller or Farrar?

How did Ralph Waldo Emerson and Fuller meet and become friends? It's not exactly stated, but was he aware of her work? Was she aware of his?

she was recognized as one of the most important figures of the transcendental movement: I'm not sure this is as concrete as it should be. Was she recognized solely for her editorial work? This is the first and last time that Transcendentalism is mentioned in the article, so perhaps her role in it can be expanded a little?

I think her importance was defined by her role with The Dial. She was never identified herself a transcendentalist so it sort of falls off the map. I'll see what further discussion I can add. --Midnightdreary (talk) 22:02, 31 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think I'm ready for you to review your review and my updates. I couldn't help but add even more than I originally intended, but I did address (I believe) your questions regarding the relationship to Emerson, transcendentalism, and the Revolution in Italy.
