I marked the article with the 2 clean-up tasks. The article starts out decently, but then it progresses into a list of random facts that don't correlate to each other. Augment1 (talk) 03:43, 26 September 2009 (UTC)

The article has been expanded recently, and most of the new additions seem to come from the website flixter. I would suggest that this website does not meet the guidelines for a source that can be cited on Wikipedia, and furthermore that most of the information regarding his aunt, his sister, and his brother is neither notable nor verifiable. There are assumptions that can be made based on things like Friendster accounts and googling but nothing verifiable. Can this be reworded?

"The name "Misha" came about from a boyfriend his mother had whilst on a trip to Russia she made during her college years; his name was Mitya, but Misha's mother misunderstood her boyfriend's nickname and so mistakenly named her son Misha..."

That sentence is rather klunky and difficult to understand. It makes it sound like the boyfriend's mother misunderstood her own son's name? I don't know the facts so don't know how to fix the sentence. 67.169.57.180 (talk) 08:40, 17 January 2010 (UTC)

I understand that her boyfriend's name was 'Mitya' (which is short for 'Dmitriy') and thinking that this nickname was short for 'Michael' called her son 'Misha' (which really is short for 'Michael'). I watched a clip of his explanation of his name. What is in the article is a quote and therefore will be awkward sounding, but an accurate accounting of how his mother named him and why. The information is about how he got the name he uses professionally, so it it, indeed relevant to his notability, the same way the accounting of how Francis Gumm got the name Judy Garland or how Archie Leach became Cary Grant. Unlike Garland and Grant, Collins did not choose the name for professional reason, and it is not relevant to his notability. There is also a much older actor named Jack Kruschen also from Canada. The Career section consists almost entirely of a narrative version of the filmography table. Unencyclopedic content/language

This article is full of unencyclopedic language and content. Many parts of it read like a fan page. I am deleting information that is not related to the notability of the subject, deleting information that is not supported by the citations, and changing language that is not encyclopedic in tone. Recently, there has been a lot of unreferenced and unverified information added to this page. Even when reference links have been added, they often do not verify the text. Information for living people should be verified and the article should cite a reputable source. I'm changing the page back to the sparser, but verified version. If you search for GISHWHES you get redirected to this page. Considering it's an event that was 10,000 people strong this year and there's no mention of it on this page, that's kind of weird. His role as Castiel has continued through out the next four seasons and he is scheduled to be a season regular in Supernatural upcoming 9th season (to begin airing in September 2013).

I would like to add a section about Collin`s recent campaign "You are not alone" launched in February 2016 with costar Jensen Ackles. The campaign ended in February 2016, but I feel that the mention of this campaign is important adding to Collin`s already extensive charity work. I suggest that mention of the campaign be placed under the already existing headline "Charity Work" in this article.

Requesting Edits

Hey so I have to edit a wikipedia page as homework for one of my classes but I don't know how any of this works like at all so sorry if this is a terrible request or if I’m not using the right terms or etiquette or if I'm posting to the wrong page or doing anything else wrong cause this is confusing as hell. I think the personal life section could be edited to include that he was poor growing up with the sentence “Growing up, his family was poor and often homeless.” after the sentence about having an irreligious family. Hi Reiley rodarte. Normally what you'd want to do is place an edit request template here on the talk page, but I think it's pretty clear what changes you are asking to be made.

Since Youtube and Facebook are sometimes not very good for reliable sources, I found a couple of news articles 1 2 that support your statement and are more in line with Wikipedia's guidelines for reliable sources. If you're okay with using those sources, just let me know and I'll add them to the article.

For the filmography section, the roles listed are already getting a bit longer than what I've usually seen on articles like this. My memory's a bit rusty on all these episodes, but I'm pretty sure that some of the roles, such as playing himself, being possessed by Lucifer, and playing the Cosmic Entity, were pretty much single episodes or really short story arcs. In contrast, both Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki only have their main roles for the show listed on their articles, and I'm pretty sure they've also both played more than one role on the show at some point. I think we're going to need to wait for some other editors to weigh in on that section to see if we can reach a consensus on how to proceed.

Honestly, I don't really care about adding the roles, I was just scraping the bottom of the barrel of things I could add to make the most out of my assignment. But I do genuinely think the fact that he was underprivileged growing up is an important part of his identity so if you could add it to the article that would be great! Thank you so much!
